Above the Fray
I was just watching " NFL Live" and it is a particularly negative episode. Then I noticed they haven't mention the Lions! This is new to most of us. Usually the icing on the cake of negative news in the NFL is the Detroit Lions.
It is so weird to be sitting here above the fray. I mean you look down and see this swirling mess of quarterback controversies. There is Donovan McNabb losing his dignity and reputation week after week in Minnesota. There's the Dallas Cowboys president, Jerry Jones, having to stick up for his beloved Romo from week to week. We have Sanchez stinking it up and his coach having to be the lightening rod to keep this team afloat.
There's the underachieving teams like the Eagles, Andy Reid on the hot seat, OK maybe it's just a warm seat, but it's Andy Reid! There is Spags in Miami on the hot seat, GM's making statement to try and right the ship.
There are bad calls. Carolina losing a game they should've won because of a bad offensive pass interference call. There is the Cruz Controversy, the bad call with Cruz getting up without the ball and being called down, screwing the Cardinals who could really use a win.
The Injury bug, Peyton Manning, Arian Foster, Ben Tate, Andre Johnson, Chad Henne, and a number of players critical to their teams success.
There air is clean up here with Green Bay, no wonder they are so cocky, swirling around on a puffy cloud, enjoying their standings. No bad press conferences with our heads down. No demoralizing injuries to darken the day. Feeling like we can handle anything. I look forward to the rest of this season and playing our cloudmates on turkey day. It's nice to be above the fray.
PS if you didn't read this with your fingers crossed, please knock on some wood.

I didn't mind the Cruz call
since in the spirit of what he was doing was with the play over
and he was heading back. Cardinals needed to make a play to win, it’s much better that way

True but I am glad it wasn't us.

Voted yes
only because this team has been built properly. While we certainly would miss Suh, Staff, CJ, we CAN win w/out them. See Indianapolis Colts.
Put me down...Lions win at least 11 games next season! 1/6/11
I'm not so sure about that
I doubt we’re playoff contenders with Stafford or Johnson. I actually think we’d survive Suh’s loss more easily, just because of our depth at that position.
