Few words on Al Davis

Putting the years of Jokes behind me today just to share a few things about Al Davis. Not a bio or anything just a short post I felt worth sharing. Al was much more than the old owner of the Oakland Raiders for those who may not know I think they should. Al Davis hepled create the AFL and as the Raiders one time Head Coach helped devlop the vertical passing game. He was passionate about football and loved everything the AFL stood for. He was elected the head of the AFL and went on to be there key represenitive in the AFL/NFL merger. Al Davis helped intergrate football being the first owner not to shy away from drafting out of porminately black colleges. Davis prouded himself on turning around players careers early one. Guys nobody wanted Al Davis always thought he could find a place for that guy. Ken Stabler being one of the many. He lived by the montra of Just Win Baby! Because it wasn't about what everyone else thought about the Raiders or himself. It was strictly about winning games. We all have our jokes and comments about the Raiders but today is a sad in NFL history. Al left his mark and was an intregal part of making the NFL what it is today. So as we all get hyped for MNF just remember that right now Oakland is going to play Denver with heavy hearts saturday. The NFL lost a historic figure as well. Al Davis son Mark will be taking over now. As crazy as the old man may have been in someway he effected every NFL fan. R.I.P Al Davis
