The Nickelback protest has made national news and has caused friends of mine in Tampa asking "why do they hate Nickelback in Detroit?"  I go on to tell them Detroit has it's own musical heritage and people of Michigan are proud of it.  With a national audience they want Detroit to be represented not Canada.  I was getting uncomfortable explaining it, I didn't want the lunch pail people of Detroit to be looked at as whiners.

Then I read an article that said despite the protest, Nickelback is confirmed as the half time show.  That is when Detroit's ability to sniff out pure crap was confirmed.  What "real" artist would take a check from a city where the residents think you suck?  That's definition of a "sell-out".  It might as well be the Spice Girls at this point.  Thank you Nickelback for being the fabricated bullshit band you are.  Stay real Detroit!
