The TE out route

Matthew Stafford's first two interceptions yesterday against the Bears came while throwing to a TE running a shallow out route to the left side of the field (as a side note the wide out on that side ran a curl in each play as well, so I'm wondering if it was the same play call).

This instantly reminded me of week 1 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Stafford's interception in that game was on a pass to Will Heller (TE) running an out route on the left side of the field, which was jumped by Aqib Talib for a touchdown (I know the pass was tipped so it is not all on Stafford). So what that means is at least 3 of Stafford's 8 interceptions have come from throwing this pass, and all 3 have been returned for TDs.

I don't recall many catches by our TE's from this route all season, so it seems to me this pattern is hurting our team much more than it helps. There is something seriously wrong with this play, can we please not throw to this route anymore?
