Yeah, I know this is a football site and here I am talking about baseball but this is also a sports fan site and I remember many a conversation about the Tigers this past year. So I would like to raise my cup and cheers an amazing season by one of our own.

So, here we are. JV won his first Cy Young award today and it was well deserved. He recieved all 28 first place votes making his win unanimous. Long and short of it, the man was a beast!

Justin Verlander led the American League in wins, ERA, strikeouts, innings pitched, WHIP and hits per nine innings. He threw a no-hitter, had 16 starts in which he allowed one run or no runs and didn’t lose a game from mid-June through the end of the regular season. To nobody's surprise, he won his first Cy Young Award on Tuesday, becoming the first Tigers pitcher to win since reliever Willie Hernandez in 1984.
