Lions Notes: Matthew Stafford Plans To Wear Gloves For Two More Games
- Matthew Stafford said earlier this week that his injured finger is healing, but he expects to wear gloves for two more games. The good news is he also said he has "figured out how to get around it and throw just fine with it."
- Shaun Hill was asked about D.J. Moore's issues with how Matthew Stafford took him down in the Bears game, and Hill said this: "He got his feelings hurt that he got dish-ragged by a quarterback." Sounds about right.
- Sunday will be Dominic Raiola's 150th career start.
- Panthers coach Ron Rivera said it's not possible to prepare for the Ford Field crowd noise.
- Ndamukong Suh talked about the notion that he is a dirty player and the Lions are a dirty team during an interview on ESPN First Take earlier this week.
- The nominees are out for the NFLPA Pulse Awards. Ndamukong Suh is one of the nominees for the Emerging Player award and Matthew Stafford is up for the Comeback Player award. Go here to vote.
- In addition to Ben Graham and Ugo Chinasa, who were signed to the active roster and practice squad, respectively, the Lions also reportedly worked out tight end Martell Webb and linebackers Chase Blackburn, Keith Darbut and Shawn Crable this week. Webb and Crable played football at Michigan.
- The Lions actually set up Graham's workout last Saturday, so apparently they wanted to bring him in even before the special teams disaster on Sunday against the Bears. Since he was in Australia, they apparently couldn't get him in for a workout until this week.

I agree with Hill
Moore got punked by a QB, no defensive player enjoys that.
Yes, I really am that great.
I'm pretty stupid when it comes to this...
…but wasn’t Stafford’s takedown by the helmet a penalty?
What exactly are the rules on that? I just figured Stafford didn’t get a penalty because Moore’s retaliation was so bad. But it sure looked like a dangerous play to me.

exactly right Dawg
It really should have been a penalty.
If you are disappointed it is only because you have chosen to set your expectations at a level that was never reasonable in the first place.

I think it had more to do with him being punked by SSSTTTAAAFFFFFFOOORRRDDD...
had it been TEBOW, he probably would have stuck his head in the turf and started munching grass.
The coolest Lion nickname ever belongs to Dick "NIGHT TRAIN" Lane.

I liked Crable coming out of college....
I think he just had a bad run of luck on the injury front. IRed his first two years in the league doesn’t look good for an….oh wait, Hi Matthew Stafford, how are you? didn’t see you standing there…well this is embarrassing. Awkward….
LITTLE MAN IN BACKFIELD! LITTLE MAN IN BACKFIELD! GO STEFAN LOGAN!
he has "figured out how to get around it and throw just fine with it."
I hate that comment. Does this mean he hadn’t figured it out before last weeks game? Why was he playing then?
No
he said he thought he was not affected by the glove or broken finger in that last game.
So who the hell really knows. IMHO, he should have been pulled at half time.
I like Wins, Cheese and I also Like Cookies. If you don't. Wow. :P

Yeah thats what he said after the game
and now comes this comment which makes the earlier comment sound untrue.
Not really. They all agreed the problems were with the wind, not the glove or the finger.
I tend to give them credit for that explanation. It’s not as if Cutler tore it up passing that game.
No slogans. Just win!!!

Journalists thank God every day for people like D.J. Moore, or else they might actually have to report a story about a football game.
