Lions Hold Practice Before Heading Out For Bye Week
Although the Detroit Lions don't have a game this week, they aren't taking every day off. Before breaking for the bye week, the Lions held a practice on Wednesday. The purpose of the practice was to get a little bit of work in before the players get to relax for the remainder of the week.
Because there is no game, no injury report was posted for the practice, but Dave Birkett did provide a rundown of who sat out the session.
Right tackle Gosder Cherilus (knee), receiver Rashied Davis (foot) and defensive backs Amari Spievey, John Wendling (knee) and Eric Wright also did not practice.
That list is in addition to quarterback Matthew Stafford and running back Jahvid Best. There was no real reason for Stafford to practice considering his ankle probably isn't 100 percent, and Best is still recovering from his latest concussion.
One player who was out last week but did practice on Wednesday is defensive tackle Nick Fairley. He was on the field for the practice, indicating he should be ready to go after the bye week.

I like it...
Give every position a scouting report/homework… while they relax and rest up.

Big, BIG game in 2 weeks....
One that will boost the Lions playoff hopes and kill off the Bear’s playoff hopes.

true enough
It’s a pretty close race right now and we have the hard schedule coming up, so this game is big.
Having Fairly this time should pay dividends. MNF was like a glorified scrimmage for him and now he gets to get back out there against the same guys…I his chances to make a few impact plays.
Any updates on Wright’s injury? I know I read about something he tweeted a few days ago but haven’t heard anything from coaches, trainers, doctors, etc.
The boys are back in town!
What about Best?
Will he even be back this season? While I would love to have him out there, as we learned with Harrison, there are bigger hings than football.
It is hard to say with concussions
They can be fine in a few days or it can take months for the symptoms to go away. We just won’t know until he starts to practice again.
