Do the Broncos just like to lose i dont get it.
Anybody who understands the Broncos getting rid of the only real QB they have (Kyle Orton) please explain it to me.
If the Bears pick up Orton and beat us out of the playoffs i may just hate the Broncos more than i already do, like what the hell you had Jay Cutler you trade him for a bunch of first round picks and Orton, they waste most of the picks received and trade the only good thing they got out of it.
Lets hope the Texans, Chiefs, or Dolphins take him before the Bears can.

C'mon... Brady Quinn is a real quarterba...
dies laughing
Damn… ALMOST said it with a straight face…
"Dez Bryant's not the first player I've said something to. But most of them, including that one, have been started by the other player. And it's usually me saying, "Shut the f*ck up." Dez was celebrating on our sideline and I'm like, "What the f*ck you doing? Nobody heard from you since the first quarter." - Jim Schwartz
Hoping KC
Then KC kicks the Broncos out of the playoffs after Orton turns into superman. Would laugh my add of if this comes back to bit the Broncos.

hear hear!
I don’t think Orton would do well in the Martz system so I would like him to end up on the Bears. I don’t see it happening and KC looks like the “winner” in this. Despite the injuries there is still talent on the team and it would be awesome to see Orton come in and thrive!

hope so boys
but what would you expect the nfl loves seeing bears do good so there already acting like hes going to the bears
by Brad Wesley James Hines on Nov 22, 2011 5:23 PM EST reply actions
The Bears are 3 things, maybe 3 and a half.
That would be:
1. Elite Special Teams, from K to KR/PR (and tons of blocks in the backs/holdings).
2. Above Average D, not elite, but definitely above average.
3. Jay Cutler
the half is Forte. That’s just how I see it.
Even if they grab Orton, I don’t think it would make too big of a difference. Special Teams helped their O out big time. They’re not good at sustaining long drives with Jay Cutler. Without him, I don’t think they move the ball at all.
What would Earl Boykins do?
Ask your self this
Orton or Hanie. Sure Hanie hasn’t actually played yet so we really don’t know what they have in him but Orton has proven himself to be an average or at times pretty good NFL QB.

absolutely
they wouldve been lucky to wrestle a playoff spot from us but that hope is abysmal now no matter what

objectively in the context of playing this season and for Martz
I think it’s none of the above. Hanie sucksass and will choke. They’ll have Enderle (sp) in there before long.

Got a couple stats here.Orton this season 1-4 and 7 td’s 6 interceptions…..Please take him bears please!!!!
Last year he threw for almost 4k yards with a 20/9 TD/INT ratio
That was with a WR corps of ’Who’s That?’ and ‘I Thought He Was Out Of Football’.
[...]when Giants coach Steve Owen, a certified defensive genius, was asked how he planned to stop Nagurski, he said: "With a shotgun, as he’s leaving the dressing room."

I will not say that Tebow is a bum,
because my definition of a bum is just not Tebow. But, Releasing Kyle Orton does not make sense. They could’ve gotten something for him. Anything.
They look stupid for that move. They wanted, what, a second rd pick for him at the beginning of the year? They could’ve gotten rid of him then for a 3rd and some change…
SMH.
What would Earl Boykins do?
tat this point they couldn't have gotten anything for him
that ship sailed when the trade deadline passed. There’s no doubt they do look foolish for not trading him when they had the chance tho. I blame the conflict in the FO for it. Some powers that be must have wanted him and some didn’t and both won out, and lost out.

It makes a lot of sense for Denver to do it.
Regardless of whether or not Tebow is their future, the writing has been on the wall that Kyle Orton is not their future. This move sends a message to Tebow, to the fans, and to the league, that regardless of whether or not Tebow is or is not the future, the future is coming.

Led a team to the super bowl after the starting quarterback went down in the playoffs
thats about it
by Brad Wesley James Hines on Nov 22, 2011 10:26 PM EST up reply actions
Your information is totally wrong
Orton never played for the 2006 Superbowl Bears. He started for the 2005 Bears, who lost in the divisional round of the playoffs with Grossman starting. He also started for the 2008 Bears, who missed the playoffs. The 2006 Bears were all Grossman. Kyle Orton has never played in a playoff game to my knowledge.
I just checked the box score of the 2006 NFC championship game
Kyle Orton didn’t play a snap. Again, I’m pretty sure he’s never played in any playoff game.
ok trysdor you crusader you
i’ll take this loss on this cus “what had happened was”(-Stephen A Smith/Stuart Scott) Orton was an emergency replacement for Grossman the Bears D was ridiculous that year and had one of the easiest schedules ever, therefore Joey Harrington/Ryan Leaf/ Kordell Stewart could’ve done as well. But you gotta admit you were scared at the possibility of Orton coming back to Chicago

Can't see Orton
and Martz being a good mix myself.
Someone is alive today simply because I can't afford a hitman.
This poll is way too black & white.
Tebow’s neither proven nor a bum. He’s winning games, but it’s anybody’s guess as to if he can legitimately play the position of Quarterback.
Dude needs to be coached. I don’t know why Elway doesn’t see that. Maybe Tebow is doing the best he can, and he’s never going to conform/commit to becoming more of a Quarterback and less of a Running passer.
On the topic of Orton- with all the starting Quarterbacks in bodybags right now, you would think Denver would at least try to finesse a deal for a pick or something.
Denver Broncos Management are a bunch of clowns.
That goddamn Okra and beans got you Oprah in jeans. Seems to me a little lean cuisine, wouldn't hurt much- Agh don't touch! -Obie Trice
Fuck Jim Harbaugh.
Yeah,
moves like that use to set our organization back years. Other teams do it, and there usually back in the hunt within weeks.
What would Earl Boykins do?
not a lot of trade options
after the trade deadline, are there?
unless there are nuances to the NFL deadline that I don’t understand (which is highly likely since I’m far less aware of those details in NFL than I am MLB or NBA).
No, I didn't mean this week. I just meant when it was clear Tebow was their guy-
which was definitely more than a month ago. I never said Orton was a valuable guy, but it’s almost a certainty Broncos’ brass coulda flipped him into something of worth.

Can't get anyone for him until the season is over
Trade deadline has passed. Remember the Jerome Harrison thing that prevented Ronnie Brown from becoming our RB. I figure they needed that roster spot for someone else. Maybe he was a cap hit they could absorb with this years cap. They had their reasons. Not a big loss either. The guy was garbage on the Bears and garbage on the Broncos. Career backup. I’d take Stanton over Orton any day.
Orton was 21-12 as a starter for the Bears as an emergency backup mainly
2005 His 15 starts and 10 victories are both rookie records for Bears quarterbacks (didnt get to play in playoffs cus grossman was hurt)
2007 ( Superbowl almost won)
i really hope they don’t sign him, but hey if they do at least he wouldnt be benched under a complete failure of a QB anymore for once in his life

doesnt sound like garbage to me i'd take em anyday instead of stanton
providing the pay was the same

I'd take Stanton considering he knows the system well =\
Orton was never that good imo, Chicago fans have always hated him.

me too
I don’t believe the Broncos ever consistently got the best football out of Orton. I don’t believe we’ve seen Stantons cap either, and has a lot higher of a ceiling. That and Stanton is here, no controversy, is working for peanuts comparatively.

Keep in mind, Bears are #30 on the waiver wire...
Plenty of teams ahead of them that could potentially pick him up.
Chiefs, Texans, Seahawks, Dolphins, etc.
President of the Tony Scheffler Fan Club
He will cost 2.5 million, why not mayhew the bears and claim him just so that they don't get him?
We are in direct competition with them for the wild card, why not remove this life preserver they are grasping for? If another team ahead of both us gets him thats even better, but if he drops down we should make sure he doesn’t fall to 30th and into their lap.

other: Orton wasn't going to be back on the field this year
- If they want Tebow as the man he needs to keep playing as the starter. No place for a disgruntled Orton
- If they want Tebow to fall flat on his face so the fans can see he stinks and they can move on he needs to keep starting too. There’s no place for a disgruntled Orton.
So why pay the 2.7m for him to be 3rd on the bench because there was no way he was going to start again barring 2 injuries and perhaps more.

I thought they couldve brought Orton in for a package of plays
the way they might’ve sprinkled in Tebow…
preparing for veer option offense, and they could bring in Orton for different look
and either pass or run from it
that being said, it seems like they should’ve kept him and let him leave for comp pick
or traded him before the deadline.. unless they have some other roster need to fill and no one else to cut for it

Ridiculous
Kyle Orton is a terrible, terrible, terrible QB- maybe he was not always, but he is now. He went 4-13 with the current version of the Broncos (with Lloyd, their best offensive player); Tebow has gone 5-3 with the same bunch, including 4-1 without Lloyd. Orton has become so bad that he was their 3d stringer now. Dropping him to save $ from some desperate team with an even worst QB (see, Palko, Tyler) was a very smart move.
Facts
Orton has a worst QB passer rating (not even counting runs) than Tim Tebow this year. Even for his career, they have the same passer rating. Why waste $2m keeping no-longer-good (even if he was ever good) player on your bench?

You can't go spouting facts...
And expect people to take you seriously.
They will believe what they want to believe.
Cutting Orton hurts us not one bit, unless he tears it up in KC which after 2+ years watching him I highly doubt. We save 2.5 mil, and show a little class to give a guy another shot.
Go-Go Gadget Tebow!!!!
Misha i congratulate you
your 6th post and your already somewhat compelling, but defending tebow will not be taken seriously in the blogmunity
