Probably should be benched...Not suspended

Not here to try and defend Suh. His actions were dumb and idiotic. It was definitely a back breaker to our chances of winning yesterday. A game that I was confident we would win going into the game and even going into the 3rd qtr. 7-0...of course we were going to win (atleast that was my thinking). It's no secret we are a 2nd half team. Can't blame the lost squarely on Suh, but that was definitely the turning point of the game.

Well, I'm over it...on to New Orleans next week. But, I don't think he should be suspended. I wouldn't mind Schwartz benching him for a half against NO, or even the whole game…but a suspension when I've seen worse? Comparing this to Albert Haynesworth’s incident is unfair. He barely touched his arm with the stomp. No one was hurt unlike when albert stomped a guys face. In my opinion the this Brian robison play froma few weeks ago was much worse and he only received a 20k fine….http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgyKJprL5V8&feature=youtube_gdata_player. Suh's play was a little worse than this Charles Woodson play that he didn't even get kicked out (not trying to say Suh shouldn't have been ejected) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2k-a033kBos.

FYI…someone shouldve advised suh to handle that press conference differently. He was talking as if what he did wasn’t caught on camera. If he does get suspended that dumb explanation of what happened may play apart in it. Him not taking responsibiltiy for his actions may draw red flags to the front office.

If he's not suspended, he DEFINITELY should be benched.

Schwartz needs to reign this team in. Stupid fucking penalties is killing this team. He needs to show his team that he is the leader, that he won’t put up with stupid fucking mental mistakes, and it doesn’t matter who you are you will be riding pine if you can’t play football in a way that helps the Lions win. Suh derailed the Packers game IMHO. I know that’s the point where I felt the same sense of unraveling that I did during the Bears game.

Agreed or a few reasons

Suh has yet to be punished in any form other that a fine. Let him play but don’t let him start! I said this sunday I am prepared to let Fairley start vs the saints. One because Suh does need to pay for his actions and as much as I love the guy he was wrong! He did not own up to it which is even worse. He must mature as a person which I said at the start of the season. Fairley needs more reps anyways IMO to help him develop as a player. He has been solid now is a great chance to see what he can do with more snaps. Let Suh rotate with Nick but I think this is a oppertunity for Fairley to step up as a rookie and make the next step. Not all about punishing Suh for his actions there is actually an upside to 90 not starting next week. Our 1st round pick is being given an oppertunity to step up and see what he’s got. Suh plays only and handful of snaps Fairley should play the majority of the game IMO.

I was glad to see that Barry Sanders found gainful employment as a bus driver. Good sign for the economy. ~ @armchairlb

Are you kidding me… are you listening to any sports talk radio today… this is BLOWING UP BIGTIME !!! It is headlining every sports talk radio and cable program out there. Blogs are on fire (and not in a positive way). Suh is going down in flames not only for his inexcusable, out of control, dumb actions, but almost equally for the way he responded to it. Benching … LOL, that’s almost as ridiculous as Suh’s asinine explanation; if Suh gets a only a two game suspension and monster fine, quiet frankly, he’ll be lucky …

I just think...

If kicking a guy in the nuts didn’t deserve a suspension, why should a “stomp” that barely touched a guys arm deserve one? Smith didn’t even acknowledge his arm when his foot made contact. If there was harm done I’d say suspend him with no questions asked. Actually, Suh’s Jake Delhomme hit was worse than this.

…a bad hit is at least a bad judgment in the middle of play.

This was stomping a guy’s arm because he got pissed at getting pancaked.

He got held, and then drug to the ground. Not saying he was right, but he had a reason to be pissed. He handled it wrong.

thats the problem, all of us (myself included) are pouring gas on the fire when it was just a small spark, granted a bad place to make a spark (national TV) but that and his “excuse” are the reasons for all the suspension talk, the action was bad, no doublt, but the penality should fit the crime. Have to say coolestcutta didn’t think of it this way untill this post

Matt Slausen a jets Olmen and former teammate

is out yapping about Suh…Yesterday I believe Slausen speared a Buffaloe player after a play where the Buffaloe player recovered a fumble and Slausen or another Jet lineman came in and speared the guy…..no flag, player was actually hurt, had to leave the game….

Suhs incident was a bit over the top. But NFL has gone too far down the path of offense first, last and always. These guys ended up on the ground by battling to get there. Unlike the Spear by the OLman of the Jets who clearly came in way late and rocked a defenseless player after the play was over….if anyone can find the film, its the film that should be making news, not this petty stomp.
