That exactly how much an album for the Thanksgivng day game band is worth. You best bet you will ask for a return. I won't get into the reasons I hate Nickelback mostly cause this post belive it or not is relative to football. I could talk music all day but this is a Lions site so I will keep this to the Lions relativley.

  The Detroit Lions have been fighting hard to take the place in the city of Detroit that they have. Players now walk through the city and don't get yelled at " You guys suck!"  they get the respect they deserve. Nate, Cliff, LoJack have all become one of us on twitter talking with fans about movies, music, football or just joking around. Coach Schwartz has embraced the city for what it is. Blue Collar, hard working folks who love there sports teams. While I realize this is all about the corperate dollar and what band needs to sell albums or have them illegally downloaded later. For Detroit this is diffrent, this is our Thanksgivng day tradition, something that we not so long ago were close to losing. Our national stage and something family all over the country wouldn't miss for anything. In a time when Detroit is looking to it's future and reembracing its past I must ask myself why wouldn't you choose a performance that shows the rich music history of Motown, Rock city. It boggles my mind. I think people are using there dislike of Nickleback to try to rid them of the half time show. When they should be thinking this is Detroits biggest game of the year. We want to celebrate our city OUR WAY!

 You can go online ( Link Below ) and read about the tremendous music history the city of Detroit has. Eminem and Kid Rock are only small specs a glimpse on the radar of what this city has created. I remember being at Wrestlemania 23 and all these years later Aretha Franklin is still one of the best ever to sing the national anthem. John Lee Hooker was one of the greatest blues artist of all time. Madonna love or hate her changed music and society alone. Being mature about this Madonna was a sexual figure in North America and the world. She embraced it and used it. While Detroit may not always stand up say THATS OUR GIRL! She will always be a bigger than life figure in the music industry. Motown records brought some of the biggest names in music history through Detroit. Temptaions, Eddie Floyd, Marvin gaye ( Who has history with the Lions). Rock and roll oh the rock that this city gave birth to! Bob Seger, Ted Nugent, Grand Funk, Alice Cooper! All of which hold a significant spot in music history. A history the Coach Schwartz embraces. This man knows and loves his music we all know that. Kid rock, White Stripes, Eminiem, Clutch all from Detroit. None of which can even scratch the surface of the core that is the rich history of Detroit music.

 Our Lions embrace this city and it's history and future. So instead of bringing in the hot ticket band from canada that your 17 year old sister loves. Why can't we celebrate our day with our music? The music that helped form who we are and what we stand for. I would gladly let any one no matter the music they play from Detroit take that stage at halftime than a band that even the Winnipeg Jets in there home country didn't want them to play. My feelings about Nickleback as a band are not relevant here. ( Follow me on twitter and you already know). The more I think about this the more I belive it is time for Detroit pride to stand up. Let our home growin music play on our stage! Bob Segar, Modanna, Jack White whom ever you have it dosen't matter. Let Detroit BE Detroit!
