Where The Detroit Lions Roster Stands
The Detroit Lions have been busy making some moves in recent weeks, both with their active roster and their practice squad. Although the active roster doesn't look that much different from what it did at the start of the season, now is a good time to take a look at the roster as the Lions get ready for the second half of the season.
After the jump you can find the active roster, practice squad and injured reserve.

running back, offensive tackle, guard and saftey
What are positions on the the detroit lions football squad that scare the hell out of me?

you're worried about safety?
Delmas and Spivey are both healthy and playing at a high level.
We just got Chris Harris for peanuts, he’s good enough to fill in if either of them get un-healthy’d.
Wendling is Wendling. w/e. I’m pretty happy with our safeties.
Those guys are playing well
If you have seen the Lions Report on Sundays you may have seen Delmas wore a mic, he is one fired up guy out there. He killed it against Denver. Only guy that still worries me at times is Levy, he may have picked it up the last two games finally.
Tell that to the Bears fans.
No slogans. Just win!!!
i'm not worried about bears fans
Harris got scapegoated for the Bear D getting embarrased in MNF. it doesn’t mean the guys terrible all of a sudden. sure, he’s got some strengths and some weaknesses. I feel comfortable with him playing if needed.
best case scenario, spivey and delmas are out there doing their thing all game long.
I think Fox is healthy now
We just never hear anything about him, or, is he still injured? Could someone ask the Lions about him already? He was in street clothes against Denver, but he’s not on the injured list so healthy scratch? A six foot seven, 320 pound, 23 year old who looked impressive in training camp before he hurt his foot. Let’s him and Davis take some snaps already.
They're not going to put Fox or Davis out there except for injury or garbage time.
Get real.
No slogans. Just win!!!
why do you think that?
Backus and peterman aren’t tearing it up, send em a message if fox and davis are showing enough…

Hello everyone and fuck Mark Sanchez count: Innumerable
Actually Davis is a significant upgrade at RG
He’s 33, so he won’t see more than 25 snaps a game, but he’ll contribute immediately on running downs.
WOW
If someone would have showed me this roster at the end of last season I would have told you to dream on. I might have even said it was a pipe dream.
Even some of the names on this PS have a lot of promise. I just pray that Leshoure completely 100% heals from this and that KSmooth looks as good as coach is saying against CHI.

so Jason Hanson didn't practice today (via 97.1)
We also worked out a couple of kickers…I hope he isn’t hurt…that would blow
The Disassembly Line....nuff said.

I just read that
He got into an ATV accident over the bye weekend…and he had to get stitches in his left knee…/facepalm!

And the Free Press says he is questionable for Sunday
Detroit Lions kicker Jason Hanson is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears after taking stitches in his right knee, and the team worked out two potential replacements today.

I agree with M_S. This is a pretty strong roster.
Are there weaknesses? Sure there are, but I really like the overall strength and depth of the defence. I see them making a significant performance leap forward in the second half of the season.
The unit that has been underperforming [IMO] is the special teams. Hopefully, Rashied Davis’ return will spark that group to improve their coverage of punts in particular.
I am really looking forward to seeing Culbreath and Leshoure contribute next year.
My 2011 Lions season prediction: 12 wins and 4 losses. I made this prediction the week after the New England preseason game. It's looking slightly optimistic right now.
from the sounds of it Donahue has been the problem with punt coverage.
if your coverage’s are designed for a specific area and the punt doesn’t go there then everyone is out of position.
The Disassembly Line....nuff said.
ME LIKEY!
It looks like they’re ready to make a strong playoff push in the second half of the season. Really excited to see what Kevin Smith has left in the tank…hopefully he sees the field a couple of times on Sunday!
I'll betcha didn't know
Leonard Davis has a metal band with Marc Colombo.
I thought Randy Phillips was on P.S IR too?

But he’s not listed.

They put him on IR after he was waived/injured
Never announced his release as far as I know.

What is the deal with Jason Fox
Any update on his status? He was in street clothes in the Denver game, they showed him standing next to Sean Hill in full uniform and he dwarfed him, and Hill is not a small man. Let’s get the young buck out there protecting our franchise QB already.
Or least dress every game.
Street clothes are demoralizing at a live NFL game.

Fuck Jim Harbaugh.
He's in street clothes
Because he’s in active for the game. He’s inactive because Hilliard is a better option if Gos or Backus get injured. As bad as Jeff has been this year do we really want to try solving the problem with our 2nd best substitute tackle?
