Around SBN: Roy Nelson Willing to Pay for His Next Opponent's Drug Test

3 years later

*WARNING* Stats do not tell the whole story, May contain to much Sanchez for younger readers, ONLY stats from 2011.

Just going to take a look at this years statistics of the 2009 QB class. Sense now I assume I won't have to hear how the Lions need to move on and find a new QB. Stafford,Freeman, and Fuck mark Sanchez was the debate if you were in the market for a franchise arm. Here is this years stats as of right now just for entertainment purposes. I used Yahoo sports for all stats. Year 3 is the year most QBs are expected to make a big jump in their careers so here is this years stats. Not taking into effect the poor year of Tampa and Mark Sanchez being himself. Simply the numbers.

I disagree, unless I missed some recent conversations here at the POD.

This is Staff’s first full year playing. There was not enough data to compare all three qb’s in the past.

Did you guys see the size of that chicken?

We knew here at the Pride that Staff was clearly a head above these other guys

But that pic of Freeman is making me reconsider. LOOK AT HIS MELON!!! Omg.

Lol the look on Sanchez's face

is that of an 8 year old on Christmas day who thinks he is unwrapping a toy, only to have it be more clothes.

While the Jets run game has not been as good this year as it has been in recent history....

it’s still a hell of a lot better than ours. Their line play is outstanding as well. Imagine the numbers Stafford would have put up compared to what Sanchez did the last 3 years prior to this season.

As far as this season goes Sanchez still has a big edge in the run game and o line play. Lets get no. 9 an above average run game and let the fun start!

The Lions with a good running game= an unstoppable Stafford and Johnson. BTW- major props to Nate for finally starting to show up. Could not have come at a better time. Young’s getting in the groove as well. We’re heating up guys!

Titus is special

He’s putting up really nice numbers for a rookie (especially one who missed training camp). He’s got the hands and excellent route running you very rarely see in a rookie. I think he’s going to be a sweet #2 soon. And that’s huge moving foward. Lately Linehan has been able to put CJ and TY on the same side and use CJ as the decoy and even visa versa now and it’s opening up big plays for both receivers. Exciting stuff!

I agree though: A run game with the combo of 9>81 is pretty Fing unstoppable!

The boys are back in town!

TY

40 rec 544 yards 4TDs 13.6ypc

With two games left and him being more of a go to, he’ll probably finish the year with really solid numbers for a #3 option…

I'm a little down on him for waltzing in the endzone and coming close to a huge fumble

just wanted more focus and finish considering his mistake in the Saints game

but he does look talented, hope he keeps his head in the game

Just a few numbers to help Matt's case.

He is in the process of the single greatest statistical season for a Lions qb ever. He already broke the record for most TD passes in a season.

The record for most completions in a season is help by Jon Kitna in 2006 with 372. So far this year Matt has 356. That means he needs just 17 to pass Kitna.

The record for most passing yards in a season was set in 1995 by Scott Mitchell with 4,338. Right now Matt has 4,145. Matt needs just 194 yards to pass Mitchell for most in a Lions seaason.

Not to mention, Matt is the 2nd youngest ever to pass for 4000 yards and 30 TD is a season. Only Dan Marino was younger when he did it.

By the looks of some of the hits he has taken this year he should stay relativley healthy so I have no doubt in my mind he was the right choice. He is head and shoulders about Freeman who is miles better than the other option.

It's been a pleasure to see Stafford break records at home and prove some of what he's got.

It’s been tough for Staff & the fanbase at times- and for long stretches… but it’s fantastic to see him play the entire season so far, and vindicating to those who believed in him.

Mark Sanchez and Josh Freeman got most of the early plaudits, but which first-round Class of 2009 quarterback would you rather have now?

by BillySimsMadeMeDo on Dec 21, 2011 2:02 PM EST reply actions

Easy

Mark Sanchez. This winning shit scares me. Had we taken Sanchez, that would have ensured we would have never won again.

It's turkey, Lions and Macy's. Any other combination is just ludicrous.

if you take the best qualities of all three, you get Matt Stafford with Freeman’s hair.
