Well, the opponents of the Detroit Lions was released earlier today- had to grab this sneak peek from The Detroit News.
The Lions 2012 schedule is just about set; at least in terms of the teams they are going to play.
Besides their home-and-home NFC North battles with Green Bay, Chicago and Minnesota, the Lions will travel to San Francisco (rematch of handshake-gate), Arizona, Jacksonville, Tennessee and the second place team in the NFC East (either Dallas, the New York Giants or Philadelphia).
Coming to Ford Field next season will be St. Louis, Seattle, Houston, Indianapolis and Atlanta.
The Thanksgiving Day game will be against either Houston or Indianapolis.
On paper, this schedule seems a hell of a lot lighter than the schedule the Lions encountered this season. Of course, with the way volatile nature of NFL - that can change in a friggin' heartbeat.
One of the biggest (and yapped about) matchups of course will be Lions vs San Francisco. Hilarious to hear that it's being called a handshake-gate now. It'll also be interesting to see what path the Colts will be on when they face the Lions.
There is a whole lot of time between now and then though... so I won't begin to even start guessing what their record would be- since the Lions are in the playoffs and all. I pump my chest daily now...
