New Offseason idea

Trade 2011 4th round pick, Derrick Williams and future consideration pick to Carolina for WR Steve Smith. (I think Carolina is looking to move in a new direction and Steve Smith is not going to be on board, and I think a fresh start could really motivate him and if he can be close to his old self, then that would be a huge HUGE steal.)

Trade Kevin Smith and Bryant Johnson to Cleveland for a 4th round and 7th round pick (Mayhewed!!)

Re-sign: Chris Houston, Jerome Felton, Landon Johnson, Turk McBride, John Wendling, and possibly Drew Stanton.

Free Agency: I think Mayhew will look to make 1 or 2 big signings just like last year.

Sign Cadillac Williams, RB (Has had injury problems, but will come cheap and if able to stay healthy should be a huge addition to a very good offense)

Sign Champ Bailey or Ike Taylor, CB (I think the Lions have made a huge impression on the players around the league and either of these corners will get paid in Detroit)

Sign Stephen Nicholas, OLB (Spoke about Detroit being and up and coming team and destination.

Draft:

1st round, 13th overall - Akeem Ayers, OLB, UCLA ( I think that Ayers will have a great combine and will solidify himself as the #2 LB in this class behind Von Miller, and I think he will be a great fit because he can play up on the line and can cover.

2nd round, 44th overall - Kendric Burney, CB, UNC (More cornerback help is very much needed and if we land Champ Bailey, he can be a great teacher to our younger players like Spievey, Berry and Burney.

3rd round, 75th overall - Deunta Williams, S, UNC (A big time play maker and big hitter that could be that rock behind Delmas' fire, plus is best friends with Kendric Burney)

4th round, 101st overall (from Cleveland) - Kristofer O'Dowd, OC/OG, USC (OLine is actually not as bad as many think, injuries hurt more than anything. Peterman and Raiola are the only ones that may need upgraded but the coaches seem to love them)

4th round, 106th overall - Greg Romeus, DE, Pitt (A sure fire first rounder when healthy, but had a bad back injury early in the season but will be an absolute steal this late)

5th round, 137th overall - Chimdi Chekwa, CB, OSU (An undersized but solid cover/speed corner that was hurt in the bowl game, but would be great value this late)

7th round, 194th overall - Shaky Smithson, WR, Utah (We need another WR, and late picks like this are more for the practice squad anyways)

7th round, 199th overall - Greg McElroy, QB, BAMA (Stanton will most likely be gone, so a proven young QB will be good as a 3rd stringer)

2011-12 NFC North Champs! GO LIONS!!!!!
