kinda scary
I wonder if we’ll take a DE now.

Honestly there is only one DE I want if we draft one.
Ryan Kerrigan. He is a beast with a non-stop motor, would fit our D-line perfectly. He has also been compared to Vanden Bosch.
"My perception, sort of going back, looking at the Lions from the outside in, was the Lions would always change courses and overreact. To be at the point now where we were competitive in every game ... We need to stay on that track. We don't need to change course." - Jim Schwartz
I don't agree with any part of that statement.
1. KVB can’t stay healthy. Over the last six years he has played four full seasons and ten and eleven games the other two. That’s almost 90% healthy over that span. Yeah, it sucks he only played eleven games last year but they got him for his inspirational value as much, or more, as his playing ability. He continued to mentor and inspire from the sidelines.
2. He’s the reason for the Lions turnaround. Again, he was injured for the last four games of the season. The Lions won all four. The game they lost was a close one to Chicago. I agree that he is a leader and set a great tone for the young guys on the D Line especially, but do not discount the leadership of Corey W. and Suh, and the excellent coaching from Kocurek. KVB certainly made a great contribution, but we have some outstanding talent at DE that can step in if he can’t play.

Yeah
This is foolishness. I’d be much more concerned with Suh’s health than KVB at this point. Suh said all the right things about KVB, but he’s ready to take over the mantle of leadership at this point.

hmmmm
Seems like KVB always gets half the credit he deserves. I don’t think his health is an issue and think he is a BIG reason Suh did as well as he did.

So Mayhew and Schwartz did nothing but get Vanden Bosch?
Why don’t we just name KVB president and go to the Super Bowl already.
"Show me someone with an offseason and I'll show you someone in last place"- Ndamukong Suh ( All Pro, Pro Bowl, Pepsi Rookie of the year, AP defensive rookie of the year, Sporting news rookie of the year,)
Vanden Bosch was a culture-changer.
Additionally, he deserves some credit for Suh’s immediate impact at the pro level.
He means a lot to this team. Even if he’s hurt, he goes 100% every down. By all accounts his rehab is going well and he’ll be back doing damage when the time comes.
