I was reading some of the mocks that have come out after the combine, and I am not too enthused with what I am seeing. I know some of you guys really think we need to take an OT in round 1, but I am most certainly not on that train of thought. I was over at WalterFootball.com and I saw the most recently updated mock...and to be completely honest, I wholeheartedly dislike it. So here is what I want to do: I am going to post their 6 round mock results for the Lions here, for all to see, and challenge everyone to tell me why it would be a GOOD draft if it went this way. Come up with positives and negatives for these guys, come up with reasons why they do or don't fit our schemes, and/or come up with viable alternatives based on who would be available using THEIR mock as a guide. I think this could get interesting, so here we go.
Round 1, Pick 13 - USC OT Tyron Smith
Round 2, Pick 44 - Penn State C Stephen Wisniewski
Round 3, Pick 75 - Virginia Tech CB Rashad Carmichael
Round 4, Pick 106 - NC State LB Nate Irving
Round 5, Pick 151 - West Virginia LB JT Thomas
Round 6, Pick 179 - Nebraska RB Roy Helu
