While dreaming of a season I got to dreaming of a dream mock. While a possible scenario, I caution not to get too upset with the trades.
13 trade to Colts and receive their 22 and 53 (They get the RB presence they need to make the O less 1 dimensional)
22 trade back to the Bears and receive their 29th and 189th (Bears put some impact on their Oline and grab Carimi)
+29 pick Martez Wilson who struggles a bit the first couple of weeks but comes on at SLB to almost make us forget their was even another 4-3 OLB being advocated in the 1st
+44 pick Steve Wisniewski C, Penn (so long Dom, thanks for all the memories... ok maybe it takes a year before we get some size and skill at C)
+53 (from 1st rnd trade with Colts) pick Jimmy Smith CB, CO (the character issues did end up pushing this 1st round talent to the 2nd, Mayhew jumps at this value/risk potential)
75 KC trades up, we get their 86th and 136th (Mayhew pats himself on the back for getting our 5th round pick back)
+86 pick Bruce Carter, OLB (by mid season when he comes off PuP we almost forget there was another 4-3 OLB being advocated in the 1st... again)
+136 pick Ras I Dowling CB (another player with injury concerns gives us great value on a gamble)
+151 pick Jamie Harper RB (he's no LeRon, but he gives us a capable blocker that can also be relied on up the middle and short downs)
+189 (from Bears in 1st rnd) pick Niles Paul, WR (solid receiver from our farm club Nebraska)
So we end up with:Martez Wilson OLB Steve Wisniewski C Jimmy Smith CB Bruce Carter OLB Ras I Dowling CB Jamie Harper RB Niles Paul WR
HA! My head is going to explode from this Kool Aid high!!! *end* dream sequence
