Detroit is expected to tender contract offers to CB Chris Houston, K Dave Rayner, QB Drew Stanton, LB Bobby Carpenter and OT Corey Hilliard. Mar. 2, 2011 9:01 a.m. - S John Wendling will receive a contract tender offer at the original-round level, The Detroit Free Press reports. Wendling was a sixth-round pick of the Bills in 2007, making his one-year contract offer worth roughly $1.275 Million.
Mar. 1, 2011 9:06 p.m. - DE Cliff Avril won’t immediately sign Detroit’s tender offer, the Detroit Free Press reports. Tender offers carry single-year contracts. Avril wants a multi-year deal. “I’m definitely excited that I can be in Detroit at least one more year,” Avril told the Free Press. “I kind of want something long-term, but we’ll work toward that still.” Lions
