Lions Notes: Talking Ndamukong Suh, Mike Pouncey And More
- Earlier in the month, Ndamukong Suh spent a day with NFL Network and NFL.com. I don't think I passed along the links, so in case you haven't seen any of this yet, here they are: Suh's NFL.com chat, Suh breaks down his success at defensive tackle on NFL Total Access, Suh helps NFL Network look at needs for teams in the NFC North and Suh talks his rookie season on NFL Total Access.
- Also on NFL Total Access from earlier this month, Trent Green picked Matthew Stafford to be his breakout quarterback in 2011.
- Former Detroit Lions player and current Denver Broncos director of pro scouting Matt Russell served as Nate Solder's blocking dummy at Colorado's pro day and got absolutely ran over by the potential first-round draft pick.
- According to NFL.com's Gil Brandt, Mike Pouncey "stole the show" at Florida's pro day.
- Kyle Vanden Bosch called Detroit a "football city" based on the support the Lions have gotten from fans despite not winning all that many games just yet.
- Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio correctly took Mike Pereira to task for helping create the controversy surrounding what is and isn't a catch, which Pereira is now questioning.
- Vikings defensive tackle Kevin Williams stopped fighting his four-game suspension, meaning it looks like he will finally serve it in 2011 if there is football.

If there is football?
C’mon with all the money involved do you really believe that the owners and players will say ,No thanks it’s just not worth it? Money drives big decisions not principle!
Year 3 is an important year for a QB
Even though Matt be a little behind in development due to injurys. If you look at great QBs peyton and more recently Matt Ryan. Year 3 or 4 is suppose to be the year you prove you belong in the NFL. That is the year that the learning curve has slowed WAY down and you are a real pro QB. Not saying Matt Stafford can’t have that year 3 he has proven to be a special talent. Just hope the time missed hasn’t hampered his development to much.

Still the stupidest rule ever
as evinced by the moron from the competition committee claiming it wasn’t a catch.
Transferring the ball cleanly from two hands to one is a second act. Full stop.
[...]when Giants coach Steve Owen, a certified defensive genius, was asked how he planned to stop Nagurski, he said: "With a shotgun, as he’s leaving the dressing room."
I agree
RIP Robyn Bailey 1961 - 2010. I love you mum.
