Madden 12 Cover Contest: Vote For Ndamukong Suh

This year, EA Sports is determining which NFL player will be on the cover of Madden by holding a fan vote. One player from each team (aside from Seattle, which is represented by "The 12th Man") is in a March Madness style bracket and there will be five rounds of voting to eventually narrow the bracket down to one winner.

For the Detroit Lions, their representative is defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh. Unfortunately for him, EA Sports gave him one of the two No. 16 seeds, and he is going up against Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the first round. Considering Rodgers is coming off of winning the Super Bowl, many believed he should be on the cover of Madden NFL 12 before it came out that a vote was going to be held. While many non-Lions fans like Suh, he will need all of the help he can get in order to upset Rodgers and advance to round two.

I know some of you might not want Suh to advance and potentially land the cover of Madden 12 because of the concern over the curse associated with it. In that regard, having Rodgers eventually win the whole thing to end up on the cover wouldn't be a bad thing. Then again, curse or not, it would be pretty cool for the Lions to get enough love that Suh wins the vote and adorns the cover of the most popular sports video game. Besides, Suh is on board with it:

Preciate all the votes for the madden cover, Gota sack mr Rodgers one more time this season!!

You heard the man. Vote now.

I'm so torn on this one

On one hand, having Suh-perman on the cover of Madden would be absolutely awesome.
On the other hand, there is the superstitious side of me that says- HELL NO!

This is one of those times when you have to err on the side of caution and restrain your thoughts on winning.

Therefore, with a heavy heart, I will be voting early and often for everyone except Ndamakong Suh. I’d rather have him healthy and uncursed than on the cover of a video game.

Nice

Given the historical inclination for the player on Madden’s covers to get hurt, I;m kinda against Suh being on there, but the guy he was sacking, would be great fot the Lions of he got hurt maybe even @ Suh’s hand, assuming of cours they actually play this year.

Forget the curse...

it’s football, guys get hurt. having your photo taken doesn’t mean you will get injured. having said that, I’m totally voting from each and every computer in my office today. lol.

There are only 100 people in my department and with the breakroom pc, the 16 in our training room and various laptops—i can probably muster up 150 votes, give or take. Your my boy, SUH! We need to make this happen.

My vote is in! SUH for the cover of Madden 2012, BITCHES!!

Life is being on the wire, everything else is just waiting.

Suuuuh!!!

Curse is a joke. Drew Brees through more Interceptions. The Saints also have a very good season with him at the helm. With more than a few TDs and not missing any games even though he was injured. If you believe in a curse let me suggest this Suh is stronger than any little video game curse. As the rock would say Just Bring It!

seriously, a 16 seed?

wtf? To me this whole cover election should be just Rogers vs Suh. Oh well, Suh will just have to get his revenge on the field…if they ever get back on the field?

what if

you don’t vote for Suh, and something happens to him??? Then it could be a reverse curse situation. C’mon man!!! Vote Suh!!!

Seattle

I’d have a problem with that as well, but who from the Sea Hawks would be a better choice?

Terrible

He’s been a Bill his whole career, barely made ripples during twelve games in a 7-9 season, and made a couple splashes in the playoffs.

That’s like putting Randy Moss down for the Titans seed.

DON'T DO IT!!!!!

We don’t want the curse of the madden cover injuries to attack the Lion’s anymore than they already have it. The curse is real and he does not need it.

by fiddlemayhem on Mar 22, 2011 6:01 PM EDT reply actions

I'm confused....

How does Danny Woodhead get a #4 seed and Suh get a #16. If they are going by team records instead of stats then that’s kind of bogus.

I'm voting for the 12th man

Because that would be the most lamely awesome thing to put on a cover.

by Trysdor on Mar 22, 2011 7:53 PM EDT reply actions

Isn't this franchise cursed enough already ?

Let’s see, Bobby Layne, Matt Millen & 0-16 for starters. Don’t tempt fate. Leave it alone !
