Trade Bait

Which of those tendered could Detroit be using as bait

Star-divide

Out of the 9 players that were tender, i can see 2 that would be going anywhere. Cliff Avril recieved a 1st and 3rd round and Drew Stanton recieved a 2nd round tender, these two will more than likely be with Detroit this year unless the rules change or a team gives up the draft picks for them. Lets take a look at those who i think Detroit maybe willing to say goodbye to.

First i will start with Houston, Rayner and Fluellen whose tender's are unknown. If i had to guess i would say original round for Houston (2nd), Fluellen (4th or 5th) and Rayner (6th). Now lets look at the others and where they were tender for.

Turk McBride: 2nd round

Dylan Gandy: 4th round

Jerome Felton: 5th round

John Wendling: 6th round

Chris Houston: Unknown my projection (2nd round)

Dave Rayner: Unknown my projection (6th round)

Andre Fluellen: Unknown my projection (4th or 5th round)

I should be intresting to see which teams are intrested in these players. I have two questions the first one will be here and the next will be the poll. Which of the following can Detroit not afford to lose?

As always enjoy and feel free to comment or ignore.

I think...

Detroit can’t afford to lose Houston in my opinion and Dave Rayner may draw the most intrest out of the bunch.

Wendling is such a special teams stud

I could imagine a team with terrible special teams, like the Chargers, being willing to give up a 6th for him.

Houston

A team that needs serious secondary help may take a serious look at Houston as there number 2. I think Wendling is a possiblity too. As much as I love Cliff Avril no one will pay that price for him.

I agree on Avril...

I think as far as Houston goes it all comes down where he is tender at i dont see it being more than a 2nd. Wendling is another that will get alot of intrest i think Detroit should have tender him at a 4th at least. I think that Turk. Rayner. Felton and possible Stanton will get some looks as well the one player i would hate to lose out of the four is Turk.

I don't see Drew getting picked up for a second but he may get some looks

Wendling was a beast on special team he could get quite a few looks from teams that need an upgrade there like Houston.

I just want FA to kickoff no later than monday. I would hate to see a lockout although i dont see it happening, the draft is going to be big for us this year.

Houston

A decent #2 CB for any team in need of a starting CB.
