It was very apparent early on who the current NFL starting quarterback was.
Matthew Stafford looked very sharp today in his return from having shoulder surgery a few months ago. He threw one pass especially that reminded me of how much power that he really has, very impressed with how he threw the ball.
Stafford easily destroyed the competition, which he was basically competing against his shoulder, and proved that he is healthy enough to play again. It's encouraging to see Stafford throwing the ball as accurately as he did and with the velocity that you'd come to expect from him.
Stafford won and will most likely go down as the best quarterback that the Bulldogs and maybe even the Lions have ever had. Yeah, I know Bobby Layne will probably always be the best, but Stafford could be the next best thing. It's definitely a far cry from some of the other first round busts the Lions have had at the position, nobody ever thought Harrington would be any more than just a serviceable starter, if that.
Still to early to tell how good Stafford will be or if he can stay healthy or not, but first impressions are pretty good so far.
