With the fourth pick of the 2011 Pride of Detroit Community Mock Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals select Auburn defensive tackle Nick Fairley.
Here is SmittyJ's reasoning for the pick:
Carson Palmer, Johnathan Joseph, Cedric Benson and Dhani Jones are all question marks for Cincy. Most would think that they need to find a replacement for Palmer, which is true, but not in the first round. I think they can get pretty close to equal value in the second round.
Nick Fairley would add another dimension to a front four that already has Carlos Dunlap, Michael Johnson, Pat Sims, Domata Peko and Geno Atkins. As a unit, it really finished the season strong.
Cincy has bigger needs like QB and OL, but I really think that a QB can be had in the second to third round. As for OL, there is not an interior lineman worth the fourth overall pick, but the Bengals could add a nice prospect in the second or third round as well.
