With the fifth pick of the 2011 Pride of Detroit Community Mock Draft, the Arizona Cardinals select Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert.
Here is JazzyBBP's reasoning for the pick:
The Cardinals' greatest position of need is at QB and the best QB in this year's draft slid to them. Blaine Gabbert is a big, tough kid who has all the tools to succeed, much like Ben Roethlisberger without a raping fetish. With Von Miller and Patrick Peterson off the board, this was an easy pick. Derek Anderson and Max Hall are not the answers at QB, and although John Skelton has shown a flash or two of potential, Gabbert is a significant upgrade over the fifth-round pick from last year's draft. Gabbert probably won't start for the first half of the season, but the upside and potential this kid has to lead the Cards in the future is very bright.
