Poll: 10 hours to go, who do you want?
The long countdown is almost over. If we can't trade out of pick 13, and these are the best players available, which player do you want us to draft of these guys:

Anthony Castonzo
Ok, so I watched that Draft Special on WXYZ last night, and a comment by Mayhew has me leaning towards thinking Castonzo will be the pick. He was asked if they need to hit a “home run” with the 13th selection, and Mayhew responded by saying that the organization needs to at least hit a single, hopefully a double, triple or a home run, but that they CANNOT strike out. Castonzo would provide depth in the short-term, but he’s good enough to be the answer in the long-term.
Personally, I’ve beaten the drum for Jimmy Smith in the past, but I totally understand the concerns there. Other than Smith, I’d also love the intensity and versatility that JJ Watt would bring to the defensive line.

I wouldn't be disappointed with Castonzo at all
He’s one of the safest players in the draft at, arguably, the second-most important position on the field.
Hey that's a timeout, I can play right? yeah, get me--get the F-- Help me up...I can throw the ball if you need me to throw the ball...
Exactly
And for what it’s worth, Castonzo is my top rated OT in this years draft. Tyron Smith is projected to be able to play Left Tackle in the NFL, so you’d be drafting him on an assumption. Plus the kid came out early, so he’s still learning the position. Nate Solder is still learning the position, as well, and imo he’s a total project at this point and not even worth a 1st Round selection. Castonzo is battle-tested and ready to contribute now (if forced into action). For 2011 he can arguably provide depth at every Offensive Line position other than Center. For 2012 he can battle for a starting position at either Left or Right Tackle, with the intentions of having him be the Left Tackle of the future.

I am not a Costanzo fan. Not sold he can be a left tackle.
Everyone talks him up but I seen him struggle against both elite speed and elite strength.

Really?
I totally disagree. Then again, I’m higher on him than most. He has the most tape out there than any of the top guys, but he’s solid in every game imo.

I don't think there are any sure left tackles in this draft.
To be honest, it is a weak draft for OTs overall. There are some decent development prospects, but nobody that you would plug in as a starting left tackle from day one. In previous drafts a lot of these guys would be round 2/3 prospects, but they have a shot at first round because there aren’t any really good OTs.
The Senior Bowl is where I saw Costanzo struggle
Practices and the game too

if Prince is available.
That’s who I want.

I like Cam Jordan too
I like Prince a little more for the Lions needs, but Cam Jordan is a good choice for a run stopping DE that can also get after the QB. Besides, we need a CJ to make impact on the defense too. We could nickname him Stoptimus Prime.
I'm going to let Suh be the GM, and get the best DL in the draft, Bowers

I am good with that
I like Bowers and I think he will recover some of this speed as his injuries heal.
Well....
maybe not THAT bad. But I love winning the game in the trenches. Jst imagine if we had as dominant an offensive line as our defensive line. Plus, a stronger line solidifies our running back situation. 2 problems tackled at once.
Egh...
Just my 2 cents, but Nate Solder has project written all over him. I wouldn’t touch him in the 1st Round.

I am OK with him but prefer to get him later than 13 if that is the guy we get

I picked Harris
I know a slight reach. But I really like his skill set in the Lions scheme.

me too
Skipped the no trade down comment – should have picked Bowers
Mayhew - " I think there are also a lot of positions where you see what's on the horizon and look down the road and look around the corner, it might not make sense on its face right now to add a player, but if you look down the road, it makes sense to add a player.'' Notice how he said "corner"

Julio Jones
Seems like the best pick if he’s available at 13, even above amukamara
Amukamara
He’s been the only standout top 15 pick who I see as a synthesis of need and talent for us.

The best player on that list is Julio Jones. I'll take him.
Although I would be very happy with [in order]: Cameron Jordan, Aldon Smith, Prince A., JJ Watt, Bowers, and Jimmy Smith. Don’t really like any of the others at # 13.
"I read one article, I said, 'This guy doesn't know what he's talking about,' " Mayhew said. "Then I read another one, and I thought, 'Wait a minute, they're all saying the same thing.' -Martin Mayhew 2011 regarding Draft Gurus.
agree with Jones as the BPA
on this list.I can see Bowers and Prince getting votes also, the other votes I question. GO LIONS!!
okay..I give up...be your self!
