As you wake up this morning, be sure to enjoy these links of reactions to the draft and, specifically, the Lion's first round performance.
More after the jump.
Pete Prisco with CBS Sports breaks down the 1st round and gives the Detroit Lions the only A+ grade for the first round. Phil Taylor (Browns) received a C, but I'd probably put them at A+ range for sheer fact of getting an extra draft out of their first round pick. Among other high scoring (A) picks: Patrick Peterson, Christian Ponder, Robert Quinn, and Prince Amukamara. Similarly, Will Brinson of CBS Sports has chalked us down as a winner.
The Detroit Free Press is brimming with articles by Drew Sharp, Michael Rosenberg, Dave Birkett, Kevin Bull and Carlos Monarrez (click the names for the respective articles) tackling various angles of the Fairley pick. Those who have prognosticative desires may want to head over to Dave Birkett's article on possible second round targets.
ESPN's resident NFC North blogger Kevin Seifert blogged about the pick last evening. While his reception is lukewarm, he makes no mistake in noticing that if Nick Fairley pans out, it's a slam dunk for Mayhew and Co. Doug Farrar of Yahoo! Sports has a rather astute article about the pros and cons of Nick Fairley coming to Detroit as well, and it's worth the read.
For those interested in Nick Fairley's future in fantasy football (IDP of course), make sure to check Cory J. Bonini's short article over at KFFL.
Last, but not least, don't forget to read Tom Kowalski's breakdown over at MLive if you haven't already.
