The thought of Scheme Versatility

I thought I would bring up the thought of scheme versatility. This might be a reach and a little crazy but let me know what you think. We all know that Jim and Gunther love versatility, especially on the defensive looks that we give opposing offenses throughout the game. Chris Mortenson has already raised the idea that Detroit is looking to mix up their defense by putting Suh at DE from time to time. Gunther has already lined up Suh as a DE and a LB. Is it crazy to think that they could sometimes give opponents a Hybrid 3-4 defence to deal with... to mix it up... once in a while?? Think of this ....

Suh and Fairley at DE
Williams OR SLH at NT
Lo JAK and Avril at opposing Rush LB spots
Levy and someone else at MLB

Just imagine the confusion for opposing offenses. Think of the pass rush/ run defense potential. I left KVB out of this mix because I think his skills call for his hand in the dirt. I think Lo- Jak and Avril could more easily stand up on the edges or drop back in coverage.

Now I'm not suggesting that this be our base defense by any means, but why not capitalize on the strength and versatility of our D-Line.  This COULD be a good look to mix it up maybe 4-8 times per game. Let me know what you think.
