With the talent we have on both sides of the ball, a glaring need now presents itself to the Lions. We discussed this last year, and I think now it is imperative that we address this issue once again.
We are in desperate need of some more nicknames.
For the D-Line, I suggested "The Motown Maulers" for the ability to cleverly adapt it to different situations - "The Motown Maulers have placed Jay Cutler on the menu for Monday Night's feast", "Detroit's Motown Mauler Defensive Line has snacked on opposing QB's 58 times during the regular season and have feasted at least five times in the last three games, showing that the Defensive Line will hold up well during the playoffs."
For the offense, we could do something Transformers related, for obvious reasons, but I have another idea, "The Move-The-Chain Gang". This could be better for a team with many arrests (like the Bengals), but it's my idea, so it goes to my team.
Also, individual nicknames need to happen. No Fair has been used to describe Nick Fairley (or the Fairley-Suh combo), but others need to come up as well. Nicknames = greatness... usually (I'm looking at you, Can't Cover Brown).
Post what you think in the comments. Who knows, if cameras catch a PODer (podder, maybe?) with a sign with a clever nickname, it could catch on.
