A lot of you have been wondering what jersey numbers the Detroit Lions' draft picks will wear. We found out that first-round pick Nick Fairley will be No. 98 shortly after he was picked, but as far as I know we hadn't heard about the numbers for second-round picks Titus Young and Mikel Leshoure.
Luckily for us someone asked Tom Kowalski on Twitter about the numbers, and Killer of course had an answer: Young will be No. 16 and Leshoure will be No. 25.
Young wore the No. 1 and No. 4 jerseys in college at Boise State. Leshoure was No. 5 at Illinois. Since wide receivers and running backs can't wear single-digit numbers in the NFL, Young opted to go with No. 16 and Leshoure decided to add a two in front of his college number for No. 25.
As of right now there's no word on the jersey numbers for Doug Hogue and Johnny Culbreath, but then again, they weren't second-round picks, nor are they high-profile skill players, so I don't think too many people were wondering about that anyway.
