Lions Notes: Honolulu Blue Kool-Aid Flowing Nationally
- This probably won't come as a shock to anyone, but C.C. Brown is really bad at tackling. Actually, ProFootballFocus has him at the bottom of their list of tackle attempts per missed tackle for safeties.
- Sports Illustrated's Kerry J. Byrne put together an article about why the Detroit Lions will contend in 2011. Jim Schwartz actually linked to it on his Twitter account, and it's yet another sign that the Lions Kool-Aid isn't just being consumed here in Michigan.
- More national love for the Lions: Doug Farrar on why the Lions' defense now has "options galore" with Nick Fairley joining the team and Dan Wetzel on why the lockout is coming at a terrible time for the Lions (hint: they're finally on the verge of something positive as a franchise).
- Ndamukong Suh spotted a picture of Barry Sanders when he was at Nike headquarters earlier this week. Later Suh stopped by a restaurant try his hand at cooking a pizza.
- Alexi Lalas, a former U.S. soccer player who grew up in Michigan, was recently interviewed at Ford Field. He discussed the CONCACAF Gold Cup matches that will be played there next month (one of them is Team USA vs. Canada).

gotta love it!
I find it hard to believe we’ll be plagued with Can’t Whatever Brown another season. Or at least hope. Let’s hope Spievey is able to learn a bit watching Coleman start. If Palmer even remotely comes around it’ll be the deathknell for ol C.C
As great as it is to see the all around improvement last year, it’s not hard to see the areas all around we can reasonably expect to see improve going in to this year!! Even if the areas of weakness are only addressed in a patchwork fashion again there’s enough in place to make a good showing to bide time in the longterm rebuilding.

Too much of a good thing??
NOT A CHANCE! Oh to imagine the ways they’ll be able to come at you with this line!! All “4” positions have a devastating rotation. Perhaps it’ll even be office pool material with statistics!! … and perhaps different schemes they run!!

I'm still trying to figure out how CC Brown was the best FA option at safety last off-season
He can’t cover, can’t tackle. It seems like literally all he does is lay the wood without wrapping up the ball carrier.

He's pretty horrible
which might explain how a third round rookie who spent his college career at CB was able to take his job.

Speaking of Spievey...
Since we signed Coleman to play next to Delmas, what happens to him? Is he being moved back to CB? Anyone have any idea?

Don't count out Spievey beating Coleman for the strating job
This is the Motor City. And this is what we do...

What JCruize said
I wouldn’t be surprised to see Spievey as our longterm option. Also wouldn’t be surprised to see Delmas benched for rest while Spievey/Coleman play cover 2. That groins got me worried, can’t imagine the coaching staff will ignore it either.

brown suck ass no doubt.. and was our worst player last year
but he is not any where close to as bad as people say.. like being in the 100th worst players of all time list… he shouldn’t be in that
RIP KURTIS CHAIVRE
Has anyone noticed that FANS of other teams are hating on the LIONS?
Some of them act like they are GB fans or just LIONS haters in general. What bugs me the most is that we use to be the LAUGHING STOCK of the NFL, now our stock RISING and so has the HATE.
I stay in Cowboy, Steeler, 49er, Colts, and the Douches of the Midway country in Memphis! Wore my M&N Barry throwback, the matching hat and silver and blue Air MAXs yesterday and a few people said I WAS ON THE LIONS BANDWAGON. LIONS BANDWAGON ? Now I have to explain that I am and have been a loyal fan since I was 5. It just makes my blood boil.
I HOPE WE SHOCK THE WORLD THIS YEAR!
COP:"Do you know why I pulled you over Mr. Dunn ?" ME:" Was I speeding officer?" COP:"A lil bit, but I really wanted to see a SORRY ASS DETROIT LIONS FAN UP CLOSE!" He gave me a ticket for 50 in a 45 zone. So I ask him his team. COP: DA BEARS HAHAAHAHAA
The fact that nobody hated (hates?) the Lions is a testament to how much we sucked
I’ve heard fans of division rivals say many times they see the Lions has the “little brother”.
When we’re hated as much as the storied franchises, that’s when we’ll know we’ve been kicking ass for awhile.

Suh recognizing and taking a moment to admire Saint Barry's pic at nike camp
That is the best story in this whole line of articles to me. Everyone knows how I felt about him holding out initially on his contract. It is acknowledgments like this by him that win me over with him as a person. His talent is undeniable. His humility and clear passion for the game and our Lions history is something special.
I like Wins, Cheese and I also Like Cookies. If you don't. Wow. :P
