Lions' Nick Fairley Meets President Obama

Stay connected for news and updates

The Auburn Tigers visited the White House on Tuesday to be honored for winning the 2011 BCS national championship game. Current Detroit Lion and former Auburn Tiger Nick Fairley was among the players that got to go to the White House, and while there he got to meet President Obama.

Fairley documented his trip to the White House on Twitter with a series of tweets. In one tweet he said, "President Obama is a cool dude!" In another, he joked about eating the White House's home-made cookies.

I'm in here killing these homemade cookies the White House made. #251Lifeless than a minute ago via UberSocial Favorite Retweet Reply

Perhaps the best tweet of all was one in response to j16941 (a POD user), who said, "Let Obama know you'll be Back With the LIONS Next after Winning the Super Bowl!" Fairley responded, "Cool I can get use to this."

Let's hope a year from now Fairley will indeed get a chance to return to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and we will get to see the Lions with Obama in real life instead of just a virtual form.
