Lions Notes: Kurt Warner Thinks Lions Can Make Playoffs
- I am scheduled to appear on ESPN Radio Houston at 7:05 p.m. (ET) tonight. I will help preview the Detroit Lions for the station's 32 teams in 32 days series. You can listen to the station live by clicking here.
- National Football Post considers Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford to be a fantasy football sleeper. (Via MLive)
- Kurt Warner thinks the Lions will be one of the teams to make a big leap forward in 2011 and make the playoffs. He joins the many other analysts that think big things are in store for the Lions next season.
- Lions defensive end Cliff Avril launched a new website. He also launched a Facebook fan page.
- The "Vote POD" campaign has been extremely successful so far. Pride of Detroit quickly vaulted up to No. 1 in the best local blogger contest on Detroit A-List, so I want to say thanks to all of you. There are still 23 days left to vote, though, so let's not fall asleep on the contest now that we're at the top.

In that fantasy football article
I hate how people think Stafford gets lit up inside the pocket, or that it’s always the O-line’s fault. He’s had 3 major injuries, and only 1 of those happened inside the pocket. I wish people would get their facts strait about shit before they start talking about stuff they don’t understand.

Yes, but
in the article, he said, “KEEPS getting lit up in the pocket.” Just pisses me off really.

The nation-wide love is pretty cool
I know we still need to actually do it, but making the playoffs when no one expected it would have been a better payoff for the long era of losing.
Fan of the Detroit Tigers, Lions and Red Wings.
I know this is random, but,
Sean, is there a chance that the players do not recertify as a union? If so, what would be the effects?

I don't think that's going to happen
But it would certainly complicate things if they didn’t. Not sure on the legal aspects, though.

i'd rather he said that he prays for us to make the playoffs
his prayers work, i have proof.

Hope you have a blast on the radio show!
What are the odds...
That with all this added attention to the Lions and assuming that Cliff has another improved year that he becomes a pro bowler?

Thanks Jon Kitna J/K

Ha
Didn’t want to throw out an exact record, so I threw 10 as a possibility out there

we have not done a damn thing
We have a team that looks good on paper with a few additions. You know what that gets you in real life? Toilet paper and rather rough paper at that.
I will believe it when I see it produce on the field. Until then, all the so called experts and ex-players can take their prognostication skills and use them for something really useful.
Perhaps how many fish I will catch on my next camping trip. Or the size of my dogs next bowel movement.
