Lions Notes: Over/Under For Wins In 2011 Set At 7.5
- With the NFL lockout now history, the MGM sportsbook has released odds for win totals in the 2011 season. The Lions' win total is set at 7.5. If you take the over, you think the Lions are going to be at least .500 in 2011. If not, you think they will finish with seven or less wins yet again. I personally would take the over, but what do you guys think?
- Tom Kowalski reports that as long as Jason Hanson is "healthy and durable," the starting kicker job will be his.
- A radio host in Kansas City says the Chiefs and Lions could be in a bidding war for Johnathan Joseph. I wouldn't put much credence in it, though. It's unlikely the Lions will get into a bidding war for any free agent this year.
- Erik Coleman will wear No. 24 with the Lions.
- Just as I suspected when it was first announced, Ndamukong Suh isn't going to be able to make it to his tweetup in Detroit because of a conflict with Lions training camp. He is calling upon Jalen Rose to step in for him, though.
- There is a Jahvid Best achievement in Madden 12.
- Donte Stallworth, who mentioned this summer he wouldn't mind playing in Detroit with Matthew Stafford, has agreed to a one-year deal with the Redskins.

Why would KC want to bid for JoJo?
They already have two great corners….

That's what I was thinking too
"I'm glad they made Flintstone's vitamins because I used to watch The Flintstones and go, "Man I bet you if I ate that dude, I would be healthy."
"I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too."
I doubt it would be a bidding war with them
Can we get Kansas City for tampering now with this info. This guy either knows something we don’t or he’s just starting rumors. I’m going with the latter.

Flowers and Carr are both due up for contracts
Carr is restricted this year and Flowers contract is up next. The only reasoning we can think of is so they could let one of the two walk.
I absolutely love the "Put Da Team On My Back" achievement
My grandfather was a Packers fan, my father is a Vikings fan, I am a Lions fan, and there is no way in hell I am raising a Bears fan.

7.5?
Watch for that number to climb quickly. We’re at least an 8-win team last year had Stafford stayed healthy, and we certainly have a lot more young guys expected to get better than old guys expected to decline.
Hey that's a timeout, I can play right? yeah, get me--get the F-- Help me up...I can throw the ball if you need me to throw the ball...
Who let the 5 Bears fans in on this vote?
And if your a Lions fan and voted under, take your ass back to M-live!
How many lumps you want Doc?
I just hope they put their money where their radio-button click is:
go ahead and lose money betting against the Lions

I voted over BUT
If Staff goes down again it is definitely possible we dont hit .500. Thats why I have a bet with 2 parameters, one if Staff stays healthy and one if he gets hurt again.

I'm taking the over for sure.
2 against Chicago, split with Minny now that they have Mac5, split with GB, take at least 2 from the NFC South(Carolina, TB, and maybe New Orleans), 3 from the AFC West(Denver, Oakland, KC) and Dallas. That’s 10 or 11.

I've read a variety of reports about Suh's upcoming "tweetup"
and I’m still not sure WHAT A TWEETUP IS.
Is it common knowledge? I want to support Suh and Detroit but I sure as heck can’t be bothered to look this up. Is it an event to encourage people to register for Twitter?

Well Jalen Rose just got sentenced to 20 days in jail for DUI
So it looks like he is out too.

So the Guinness World Record is for the amount of people that just show up?
I guess I’d like to see Detroit break this record but it sounds like a few problems have arisen with this particular tweetup. Free Jalen!

Noticed
that the “over” trouncing the “under”
really a suprise on this site. lol lol
A Vike's view .
Yes they havetwo good young CBs . But a my Vikes learned . Depth is key to a deep playoff run . First to address the question . I say over . Next I see your Lion’s in a similar situation as Da Bears of 2010 to a few points . A few agressive FAs and the money to address the O-line is important . I was impressed with the Lions three effective QBs last year . Aside from the pounding they took . If you want to make a playoff run . Depth is as important as obvious starters .
10-11 wins isn’t out of reach with a few key pieces . The FA frenzy has only begun .
Hey Gothic
Is the DN popping like the POD is since the end of the lockout? And are you happy with the whole McNabb most likely being a Viking idea?

Anyone that votes under gets slapped.
Seriously though, place your bets now. I doubt that number will last long.

The number sounds just about right from a Vegas point of view
If they put it at 8.5 the under bets would carry the load. Putting it at 7.5 will draw interest from the overs and they can move up to 8 or 8.5 later with no problems.

How was the Tigers game?
Verlander toughed one out.
Plus when left handed batters came up the camera angle had a hot chunky blonde MILF in the background. That wasn’t you with her was it Josh?
.Does your momma have a Big Ass like your head?
The game was amazing
Dunn, proving the sun shines on every dogs ass once in a while, hit that home run in the first and got me all worked up. In the midst of a sea of Sox fans, I was raising hell.
It was great to see JV pull one out on an off day. Would have rather he dominated them but that was a beautiful sight to see. JV pitching a clean 8 still hitting triple digits late while the Sox were trotting out and wearing out their bull pen was completely fitting. Seeing JV junior come out for the 9th and knowing the game was wrapped up. It felt great.
As for the chunky blonde MILF. I am into brunettes lately and chunky is never an attribute one can place on my women! I like em long and lean!

He's doing something special this year and is a real pleasure to watch pitch. Glad to got to experience it.

If you get a chance
Catch him live. Its is amazing.
Even in an opposing teams stadium, the fans realize they are seeing something special. Surprisingly, I ran into a ton of Sox fans who were very excited to see him pitch. A tuesday night game and the turnout, while not a sellout, was impressive and the fans were into the game. I did not run into one unruly or rude fan. I saw more Tiger fans than I expected. A great time.
