Admittedly, I probably shouldn't have jumped to too many conclusions about free agent linebacker Nick Barnett's tweets from earlier today. He has not joined the Detroit Lions just yet, but things could be getting close. Via Evan Silva, Jason La Canfora reports that Barnett is in town to visit the Lions today.

This is a sign that negotiations are progressing and possibly even heating up. There is no news on the Stephen Tulloch front right now, so the focus seems to be on Barnett for the time being.
Obviously nothing is guaranteed, but I really like the Lions' chances of landing Barnett, perhaps even by the end of the day.
