All-2000's Lions
This is my ALL DECADE team for the worst Decade in Lions history... The spots are my opinion of the best player, based on body of work in the 2000's not one season.... 2000-2009
QB- John Kitna
RB- Kevin Jones
RB- James Stewart
WR- Calvin Johnson.... Even with only 2 season in the 00's
WR- Roy Williams
WR- Mike Furrey
TE- Casey Fitzsimmons... The 00's were pretty dry for TE's and at least he was an ok blocker!
DE- James Hall
DE- Robert Porcher
DT- Shaun Rogers
DT- Dan Wilkinson
LB- Ernie Sims
LB- Chris Clairborne
LB- Earl Holmes
CB- Dre Bly
CB- Andre Goodman
S- Kurt Schultz (nine INTs in 2 years as a Lion... Slim pickings at safety too)
K- Hanson
P- Harris
KR/PR- Drummond

Thats unfair
Can’t dis Hanson, he’s been the ONLY bright spot the whole time.
"Never underestimate the power of the Schwartz..."
"I see your Schwartz is as big as mine..."
"May the Schwartz be with you..."
"Liquid Schwartz!!!"
Hey now
let’s not forget the other H in our H&H Kicking Krew. Also, Muhlbach should be listed on this list
It's turkey, Lions and Macy's. Any other combination is just ludicrous.

Wow
You really know how to bring the mood down. Lol. I am pretty sure our current team could beat that one with Calvin on that team. Rayner would have to kick and punt. The problem is due to their time the current teams left tackle and center may struggle.

He only had one good year for us

Yeah. If your argument against Pollard
is that he only had one good year, then Mike Furrey is out too…
I will take Hakim’s 11 ttl TDs in 3 years (2002-2004. 2006 doesn’t count since he was done) than Furrey’s 7 in 2 years (6 in 2006, 1 in ’07). I know Hakim is a whipping boy, but stats are stats.
Obviously, just my e-pinion
I'm so ahead of my time, my parents haven't met yet
And I would add Zach Follett as a special teamer
cuz he’s Zach Follett

Casey Fitzsimmons
probably one of my favorite Lions from the last decade. I will always remember when the Bears attempted an onside kick and he picked it up and ran it back for a TD. That return helped the Lions set the record for most points scored in the fourth quarter in NFL history….34 points.
LITTLE MAN IN BACKFIELD! LITTLE MAN IN BACKFIELD! GO STEFAN LOGAN!
haha i remember that
I thought that was against the broncos tho???
by yamahawarrior89 on Jul 6, 2011 10:28 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions
Nope...the Bears.
The Lions scored 34 Points and the Bears 14 Points in the fourth quarter also setting the record for most points scored in the fourth quarter combined.
LITTLE MAN IN BACKFIELD! LITTLE MAN IN BACKFIELD! GO STEFAN LOGAN!
I love Fitzsimmons.
I remember one game where he got nailed in the endzone and still scores. I remember it so clearly, because I think it was in the same game that I saw Pollard totally short arm it when saw Ray Lewis coming at him. Pollard had his arms out stretching for the ball, tuned his head and saw Lewis, boom alligator arms.
Now it probablly didn’t happen in the same game but it’s the way I remember it. My memory tells me that Casey got nailed early, and still came down with it.
I pity the fool!

Schlesinger FB, Herman Moore WR, David Sloan TE, Luther Ellis DT
should all be included
by Brad Wesley James Hines on Jul 6, 2011 11:47 PM EDT reply actions
Well...
Schlesinger did play until 2006 for the Lions and 1207 of his 1445 career rushing yards were in the 2000’s. But, he’s best known for blocking for Barry. Moore and Sloan played until 2001. Most of their careers were done in the 90’s. Not sure I’d include Luther Ellis. I liked him….but in from 2000-2004 he had 5.5 sacks. His best work was in the 90’s as well. So, I think he didn’t include them because they are best known for their Lions careers in the 90’s.
LITTLE MAN IN BACKFIELD! LITTLE MAN IN BACKFIELD! GO STEFAN LOGAN!
Bingo
Its really hard to believe, but we are more than a decade past 2000 and the days of Barry and Herman
All men are created equal. Its just that some men are more equal than others....
I didnt add a FB, that one was as obvious
And moore didn’t play in the 2000’s

You think players in the 90's were in the 2000's dude lol

I hate to say it
But Harrington had more yards, TD’s and played more games than Kitna.

Yea, but I don't think he was actually more effective LOL!

the "played more games" is the key to those stats...;-)

Earl Holmes
Haven’t heard that name in a minute. I really liked that guy.
Also, Mike Furrey and Kevin Jones share the distinction of being my two favorite no longer Lions from the 00s.

wow not really a vike fan but used to live in Seattle for a bit
that Kitna is your best bet at QB really says a lot about the last decade for your team. Thank goodness that disasterous decade is over for you all.
Childress gone, TJack gone, new stadium on the way: it's like that Christmas when Santa brought prostitutes!
Keep in mind that Kitna put up 4000+ yard passing seasons in '06 and '07
The guy was a strong leader on a terribly weak team. I see no problem with Kitna being our top QB of the 2000’s

yet he threw more interceptions than touchdowns in each of thoses seasons
How a QB can throw for more than 4000 yards and only throw 18 TD’s is a head scratcher to me.

I'm putting in Corey Redding over Wilkinson.
Outside of that, seems solid. Kind of sad to look at, though…
