Former Detroit Lions quarterback Joey Harrington spent the night in the intensive care unit of a hospital after being hit by a car while biking in Portland, Ore., on Sunday night, according to various reports.
Portland Police told KATU-TV that Harrington was struck from behind by a 26-year-old driving a small SUV around 8:30 p.m. local time.
Harrington suffered non life-threatening injuries, including a broken collarbone and punctured lung, according to KATU.

Are you kidding me?
Thankfully he’s OK. While I may have wished something like this to happen to him when he played for us in jest, I hope that there are no complications and his recovery is swift.

She looks enough like him that she could be his sister.
Does that mean Joey might be better looking in drag? LOL
Wow too bad........
He may have never panned out in the big D, but that sucks to hear, hope it all works out for him.

Wish it was Matt Millen instead of Harrington......
Harrington was at least a good guy
If it was Matt
and the driver was a Lions fan, it probably would have been considered self-defense.
Seriously though:
I wish no harm to Joey, hopefully he makes a full recovery. I can’t believe that the car was only given a slap on the wrist.
Where are we going, and why am I in this handbasket?

I dont blame Joey
for not panning out in Detriot. sure he wasnt a good quarterback and over rated. but its Mi**en’s fault for even drafting him.
Best of luck Joey. At least your some what respected in Michigan. you didnt ruin the franchise. The driver should get fined jailed and have to put in community work. Along with Mi**en.
Oh god no
Mi**en should not be doing community service unless that community service is cleaning toilets at state penetentaries.

you know if he did
all the prisoners would escape and the toilets would explode. I wouldn’t trust Millen with any task and not expect it to end in epic disaster.
Hey that's a timeout, I can play right? yeah, get me--get the F-- Help me up...I can throw the ball if you need me to throw the ball...
Wasn't good qb in the NFL
I remember watching his last game at Oregon in the Fiesta Bowl. He threw for 350 yards and 4 tds and was named offensive player of the game.
During his time at Oregon he was 25-3. He had 6911 passing yards, 59 touchdowns, and 23 interceptions.
Not bad numbers. He just didn’t fit what that guy wanted in a qb but was the best available qb in the draft at #3.The only 2 decent qbs from that year were David Garrard who was drafted in the 3rd round and Shaun Hill who went undrafted. For a team in need of a qb who else would have made sense?

Isn't that pretty much the same headline when he played here?
It’s not like he doesn’t know what it’s like to be hit by a truck (or SUV) Poor guy was prob having flashbacks of his time here after the accident… Best wishes Joey get well soon…."Fu**ing Mi**en..!.

What's really crazy about reading this
I was given an autographed picture of Joey this weekend as a gift. Hope your recovery is swift, I always thought he could have been really good, just a bad situation.

Agree with you guys, although Joey “Twinkle Fingers” Harrington never had it in him to be a NFL QB, he was a good guy and took a lot of crap from us through the year. All the best!
Just like his playing days, Joey goes down in traffic
All kidding aside, I hope the best for him, I was a big Joey supporter when he was with the Lions, and always thought he got a raw deal. Rest up Joey Blue Skies.

I love that
I say from this point forward we all refer to him as Mi**en. I know I am.
Get well soon Joey Jesus!

Harrington got hit by SUH and ended up in ICU!!!
You’ve been warned McNabb!
Oh wait, it was an SUV…my bad.
Just livin' the dream...
Hopefully he recovers quickly
Still dissapointed he didn’t work out when I hear his name.
Yeah, it's hard to stay mad at a guy years later
Unless your name is Matt Millen. Fuck that guy.

Yea, I was never really angry,
but he was our first pick when I actually really got into football and I really wanted him to do well. Not to mention the guy is classy, and does alot of things right so it was easier to cheer him. The mess he was thrown into had to be a big reason for his failure, kid had alot of talent. Ultimately it’s on him to succeed, but the GM, as we know, made nothing but bad decisions.
Well said.

All kidding aside...
Quarterback is a position where you depend a lot on the guys around you. It was hard for Joey to succeed when he was constantly running for his life. I have criticized him for throwing away the ball too quickly but even when he stood in there and took more hits in later years, he just didn’t have the weapons to provide a consistent offense. Instead of getting proven receivers for Joey we saw Fu**in’ Mi**en spend first round picks on busts. Charles Rogers was a dopehead, in numerous ways, and always hurt. Roy Williams was an egomaniac. Mike Williams was just a loser. Kevin Jones was always hurt.and his best running back ends up being Avieon Cason. It is just sad what Fu**in’ Mi**en did to this team.
