Jerome Felton
Traded to the Broncos? I'm watching NFL network and they showed him being a Bronco. On the right side where they show the teams players that were free agents. I can't find any news on this. I know he's signed. Anyone know anything? Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah go go go go go go go go go go go go go go go go Go go go lions

He’s on the Lions roster. There has been no talk about a trade happening. It’s likely just an error.

Are there any Lions fans that really like Felton?

To follow that up...
I believe Felton to be more of the modern FB… a pass catcher, HB runner, and one that still has the ability and skills to lead block.
Felton fits all those rolls.

And the dude wants the rock. Can’t argue with that.

I don't hate him
To me he’s like a FB who does everything (block, run catch). The problem is that he’s not particularly good at any of the 3.

I’m not against having him but I wish he could block better. I can understand him wanting more carries if that’s how he excelled in college. I think we should trade him and find a fullback that can block better if that’s how the coaches want to use a FB in our system. Can Schlesinger come out of retirement?

I don't like him
Half ass fullback that thinks too much of himself. Asked to be traded unless the Lions gave him the ball more…your a friggin fullback, just be glad you have a damn job in the NFL…

his issue is ...
he really was a runner in college. And he wants to go back to that. I mean it is easy for us to sit here and tell him what he should do with his career and all. But it is his job so i have nothing agaisnt him telling coaches that. But to put it out in the public sounds kinda like he is putting pressure on the management.. and that i don’t agree with.
i find nothing wrong with Felton.. i do however think...
Lions can find a player to fill that role better.. maybe a H-back or a tightend… but to me whoever it is has to have special teams value just cause that position isn’t gonna be on the friend as much…. or could be performed by a tight end
I like Felton
I think he is another weapon at our disposal and I think we should use him more often.
If one of these guys can't take us to the promised land, maybe we should shop for one. You can have the greatest running back of all time, but if you don't have a consistent quarterback, you don't win.

I think Detroit got Von Miller and a 3rd round pick for Felton.
Just kidding, but I have all kinds of faith in Mayhew’s ability.
Where are we going, and why am I in this handbasket?
Yeah I saw that too
But most likely just an error. I think Felton is definitely a new era FB but I think for our scheme we would be better off with a run blocking bruiser.
just pass me the damn ball

I hope that we run more with Heller at FB
All that dude does is block, and he could help us get more push up the middle

I would still take Lorenzo Neal.
The guy was a running bruise. I do remember one play where Rivers tripped and handed Neal the ball. Nobody looked more suprised than Neal did.
It's turkey, Lions and Macy's. Any other combination is just ludicrous.

I don't dislike Felton, but I am still waitning for him to realize his potential
Yes, he can run the ball some. He is an OK blocker but not fabulous. He can catch the ball some too. I can’t really say there is anything wrong with Felton. My problem with him is that he does not make a consistent impact on the game when he gets opportunities. He has made a few nice plays, but can you remember any of them changing the game?
At some point you start to realize that you might be better off taking a swing at another guy if you are not losing much by trying. That is why I feel that the Lions might give either Clapp or Dial a chance.
We also can’t forget his comments about the Lions playing him more. I am not bog on linking to othjer blogs here but the Freep has the original article int he archives now….

Blocking
From what I can see, his blocking is actually pretty good…at least last year. I am still pissed about his untimely fumble last year though.
