Tackle might get thinner
Jc Cubreath starting at LT ? At this rate it might just happen. Tony Ugoh misses practice today because he is pondering retirement.
Ugoh, a five-year veteran, is in a battle for a roster spot at backup tackle with Corey Hilliard and it's unlikely Ugoh is going to win that competition. The other three tackle positions are solid with Jeff Backus, Gosder Cherilus and Jason Fox.
Unless Fox, Gosder, and Old man Backus start to comeback soon. I think Mayhew is gonna have to work his magic on the the market. Atleast to get us through preseason.

From all reports
I’ve read Culbreath while having potential a substantial distance away from being able to contribute effectively.
Ah but I was so much older then and younger than right now
was a 7th round pick from a small school.. i am willing to bet your right
even if the voices in your head are the “sources”

"Voices in my head"
he he I’m old but not as yet delusional. If I recall correctly Killer said something to that effect in his recent reports from camp as well as Mikey though I could be mistaken. Culbreath is a guy I hope to see succeed. From what I’m reading though his learning curve needs to be accelerated if he is going to be able to contribute this year. I have not seen him at all though so no there is no statement of fact here.

i am young and i hear voices.. though thats b/c of my job
i think we will keep him unless he is just god awful.. like young last year we didnt want to risk it

If Ugoh retires...
the Lions WILL have to make a move to find some depth at that position. Just to get through camp if nothing else.
exactly
Cherilus and Backus aren’t ready yet and Fox is still out. That leaves Hilliard as the most experinced tackle on the team I belive. He plays right too.
Thank you Zack Follett for all your hard work.Pain Train Forever
