Detroit Lions Training Camp: Notes From Wednesday's Practice
- Former Titans coach Jeff Fisher was once again at practice on Wednesday. He was joined by actor and Michigan resident Jeff Daniels. Fisher said that he is very impressed by the job Jim Schwartz did last season despite all of the injuries he had to deal with. Fisher also said he thinks the Lions' defensive line can be "one of the top groups in the country" if the players can stay healthy.
- Brandon Pettigrew was out because of a "mild" ankle injury. He is considered day-to-day.
- Aaron Berry also missed practice and is day-to-day. He has a slight groin pull, according to Chris McCosky.
- Randy Phillips is dealing with a shoulder injury and was unable to practice today.
- Calvin Johnson didn't finish practice, but don't panic. Johnson isn't injured; his tape was simply too tight and the Lions decided to shut him down for the rest of practice.
- Titus Young once again was unable to practice.
- Tom Leyden reports that Jeff Backus had his pads on "for a bit" today but didn't do anything in them. Perhaps it's at least a sign that his return is getting closer.

Love the logo on " The Fish ".
Looks good on him. Can’t be tampering if he’s wearing the threads. A consultant to the G.M. might be in order… Not to thrilled about the " Pocket Rocket " ( Titus Young ) missing so much time…

Where the fuck has Phillips been!?
Between Spievey and Coleman he’s gonna be assed out. Young is starting to piss me off lol
Phillips has been practicing until today. I was surprised to see him sidelined.
Phillips is giving Erik Coleman all he wants in competition for a roster spot.
Let’s hope Phillips has a bruise, or strain only.
ya?
If it’s that close between the two I hope they go with the youth in the hopes of more upside.

Gosder played very well today. He handled a full load of work.
Stephen Peterman is also playing much better. He’s setting a solid anchor and driving well on rushing plays.
Some of the best news all week...

Calvin Johnson got shut down for the rest of practice
Translation – We can’t afford to have him practicing with this big effing injury bug flying around the facility.
I'm betting he's got some minor injury...

I'm getting sick of Titus and "he has a leg" shit.
Schwartz can kiss my ass with his stealthy injury report shit.
Were talking about a high 2nd round pick that has barely touched the practice field.
Why? No one really has said exactly why.

I was happy with all 3 of our top draft picks. Was beyond happy with the Fairley pick, was very joyous when we drafted Titus, and wet myself when we snagged Leshoure.

It may be a maddening habit,
but who else do we know in the NFL that does the same thing and has a few super bowl wins?
Did you guys see the size of that chicken?
Billicheat is a douche
I do not what a douche for a head coach on my team.
Teams win the SB surprisingly often without this sort of BS. Using one coach as proof it works, who has not won a SB since he was stopped taping the other team’s D is not a valid point.

Wow, tough crowd
If we knew for a fact that within 10 days of the start of camp that all three of our top picks were hors de combat, it would be upsetting, would it not? I mean you are upset without knowing for sure, (Well yeah, you know, but theres still that opportunity for doubt) and without that opportunity for doubt, someone might lose their job. and in these hard economic times Detroit can hardly afford yet another layoff. So, not only are they helping us the fan, they are doing there part to help out Michigan’s employment woes

here's a great wrap up of Wednesdays practice
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/800599-detroit-lions-training-camp-your-wednesday-report
stfu that it’s BR, michael is doing a wonderful job with these reports. I’ll admit that Killer is finally doing a good camp wrap up too this year, most days. Mikey’s been consistantly on par or better than those every day (that he’s allowed in) I just wish Sean would include these reports in these link posts.

I’ll officially read anything Mikey writes. Let me know when you put out a novel, I’ll kindle that shit.
It's turkey, Lions and Macy's. Any other combination is just ludicrous.
