So, it appears that the Bills just released former first round pick Aaron Maybin. Maybin was the 11th overal pick of the 2009 draft. He was a pass rushing DE from Penn State. After being drafted by the Bills he was moved to Outside Linebacker. A move that appears to have been a bad idea. Now, it sounds like he fits the square peg in the round hole ideology.
In two years Maybin's stats are as followed; 24 tackles, 0 sacks.
Is it worth taking a look at this guy? With the loss of Turk McBride, do we want to add another DE? At DE (at least in college) he showed he could be effective.
On the roster we currently have. LoJack, Cliff Avril, KVB, Willie Young, Narada Williams, and Keyunta Dawson. I'm happy with the first 4 I listed, don't see that big of a need to upgrade. However, he could be an upgrade over Willie Young if he can convert back to DE and play as well as he did in college.
Thoughts?
