Detroit Lions Training Camp: Nick Fairley Making Progress
- The Detroit Lions have moved up Wednesday's open practice to 2:45 p.m. Originally it was scheduled to begin at 3:15 p.m.
- DT Nick Fairley is no longer wearing a cast on his injured foot. Instead he just has a walking boot, which allowed him to watch practice from the sidelines for the first time since he had surgery. Since the Lions didn't want him to be on the field and anywhere near the action with a cast and crutches, he was forced to observe from a distance.
- DT Corey Williams, CB Chris Houston and CB Eric Wright were among the players out today. All three of them are day-to-day.
- WR Titus Young once again missed practice.
- QB Shaun Hill didn't take any reps today because Jim Schwartz wanted Drew Stanton and Zac Robinson to get more action than they usually do.
- WR Demario Ballard is considered day-to-day with a foot injury.

Zac Robinson
Drew Stanton looked pretty good against Cincy and I think he’s shown he can hold his own in real game situations. That being said, if Zac is really pushing drew he must be doing really well in his development. Is it time for the Lions to start pullin Pats and Eagles moves? Could we possibly keep these guys around develop them and maybe get a pick outta one of them? I’d be interested to see where all of this goes.
I think after the way all the QBs played last year, there has to be interest around the league.

"Tightness" Young is really hurting himself.
The guy hasn’t practiced enough to get a feel for anything yet. He didn’t have OTAs and there was no rookie camp. He is so far behind the curve right now that he may be severely challenged for paying time well into the season. I think that Young needs to find a way to get his butt loosened up and back on the field.
Tightness
You talkin about tightness, not the game, not the preseason game we all saw and loved. You sittin here talkin about tightness.

Agreed.
It’s going to be tough to have Young ready to contribute on opening day. With D Williams faltering and Ballard in a boot, we’ll be down to Toone and other teams’ cast-offs to get us to opening day.
Nate Hughes has looked good and i think he is pushing all to make the 53 man roster...count me in on the band wagon for Hughes.

Agreed
He needs to get his a&$ on the field.

Unless its a more serious injury than the coaching staff is letting us know, which is entirely possible, I can’t figure out how any athlete who is supposed to be playing at the professional level can’t get past muscle tightness. Take some midol for the cramps and get your a$$ on the field man!!
Agreed
I was hoping he’d be back in the swing of things by now.

I hope Nick is out for a while longer....
but its purely personal. I am scared of the line your team is putting together. I think Aaron Rodgers peed himself a little when he saw you draft Fairley.
