I think he may have retired..
His Facebook says “has worked for Detroit Lions”..take that for what its worth. But his twitter message is a little more telling
“Respect to Schwartz Mayhew Lewand didnt want to risk a life threatening injury after seeing my pain, Someone had to make the tough decision!”.

I am very very sad.
Zack was one of my favorite guys on the team. But it isn’t worth risking your life to play football.
All I can say is Godspeed in whtever you do next Zack.

He did play football
And made a professional team. An accomplishment that few will ever be able to make and many will dream of.
Gonna miss the guy I have been a big fan of his sense day 1. It's sad this had to end like this.
I hope one day maybe we can see him again. He has a long life ahead of him and if he could do any damgage to that I would feel even worse. Well played young man Well played. You will be missed. It was a short ride but the Pain Train sure was fun wasn’t it. He was one of my favorites he has a real heart and he loves his fans. Stay safe Zack and never forget the Fans still have a place for you.

couldn’t put poor Zach back together again. Sorry if you all like him that much, but I still remember the china doll comment.
I liked Follett for the heart and intensity that he played with. I liked his reckless abandon approach. That said, while I feel sorry for him with his career being cut short, I do not feel a personal loss or that the team will be worse off without him.
If one of these guys can't take us to the promised land, maybe we should shop for one. You can have the greatest running back of all time, but if you don't have a consistent quarterback, you don't win.

are total idiots. A player’s career and livelihood can be over in a split second. The players needed to make sure that they got a fair shake now and in the future.
We’ll miss you Zach. You weren’t the biggest, or the strongest, the fastest or the most skilled, but there was nobody on this team that I knew had the heart of a Lion like you did.
