Colt McCoy and the hype?

What was with all the hype he was getting? He had a decent drive (short field) against our first teamers but every other TD was against our backups and third/fourth string guys. I really think he is doing well this preseason but was pretty pissed off when I turned on the late ESPN highlight broadcast to see all McCoy and no lions highlights. I wanted to see the comeback because my friends DVR didn't tape the whole game. All they could do was praise McCoy and his tutelage under Brett Favre

Star-divide

So, what do you think about him last night? I felt that the pundits were giving him the credit that Matt deserves this preseason because he has looked darn good. But, we all know the Lions get shafted when it comes to credit.

Tangibles and Intangibles. Also Gibles.

It seems to me that McCoy is in an offense that suits his tangible abilities, quick throws, fast reads and workhorse run game. His intangibles make him the right guy for the Brownies. Square Peg and Square Hole.

With that being said, he has a noodle arm and skinny neck! And who gives a crap about Farve! Stafford’s numbers will destroy him and any other West Coast noodle armer!

I pity the fool!

meh

I remember when Stafford was getting all kinds of hype too. The hype train was derailed by injuries.

McCoy has looked better than expected so far this season. Good for him. I am of the opinion that he does not have the upside that Stafford has but that very well might just be my homerism talking.

We will see. Hype is just that, Hype. Until it is realized. Neither of these guys have live up to any of it yet.

agree with that

Potential is a great thing but until it is proven with hard stats then it is just a pipe dream.

If you are pondering, "What am I supposed to do" think the EXACT OPPOSITE thing as Matt Millen is thinking.

I said last year

Colt in the long run will be the best QB in that draft. I still stand by that he is no Stafford but he will be a longtime starting NFL QB. I think he fits the west coast system perfectly so maybe the Browns finally solved that QB question.

I recall that

and would agree if not for Bradford. I think he could challenge that and is. I don’t have a doubt he’ll the QB of record for the Browns for some time barring injury.

Bradford has done better than I expected

I’m just not sure how high his ceiling is. I thing Colt has higher ceiling than Bradford. I will admit as right now Bradford is better. I think in time though Colt could pass him if the Browns give him some more weapons. Massaqoui and Little with Hillis is a good start.

I said this before he entered the league and I'll say it now...

Colt McCoy is gonna be one helluva Quarterback. I really wish we had drafted this kid (don’t get me wrong, I think Staff is great…when healthy). I think he has leadership, poise and the arm to be an elite QB, not to mention the adorable face haha.

just pass me the damn ball

Get him a few WRs,

And he should be a solid QB.

i agree with it enough to wait for him

in the late rounds as my backup QB. hes cut from the same cloth as the mannings, bradys, breeses. (so is staff, FWIW)

Colt will do fine

but I’d rather have Stafford.
