- The Detroit Lions have announced their practice schedule for the next three days. Tuesday's session will begin at 9:15 a.m. and the practices on Wednesday and Thursday will both begin at 11:15 a.m. All three practices are scheduled to be open to the public, and Thursday's practice will be the final one that is open to the public this year.
- After his touchdown reception in Cleveland last Friday, Lions wide receiver Nate Burleson did LeBron James' chalk toss for his celebration. Burleson explained on Monday that the celebration was not the one he originally planned.
Hopefully we get to see many more Burleson celebrations in the coming months."It was a LeBron thing," Burleson explained today. "I wasn’t going to do it. See, I had a plan. I had two celebrations planned. I was going to catch the ball, get up, do the shot by (Michael) Jordan (against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 1989 NBA playoffs) and the three pumps. I’ve got it all down. I’ve seen it like a million times.
"But then when I got in the end zone, I was waiting for the ref, and then when I looked at the crowd, the Dawg Pound went crazy. They were cussing me out, talking about my momma, so I was like forget that. Where’s the powder at. Voom."
