Sinbad, the stand-up comedian and actor from Benton Harbor, Michigan, attended this morning's practice at Detroit Lions training camp in Allen Park. The Lions' official site caught up with him and got his thoughts on all of the optimism currently surrounding the team.
"I’m going to tell you this," he said. "The energy from watching TV since I’ve been in town these last few days – I haven’t seen this much optimism about the Lions in a long time. The energy’s good.
"Now you can be sayin’ it with pride. Lions pride. That’s going to be nice. I’m going to have to come back for some games."
Sinbad went on to say that he can see the optimism on the players' faces and that having hope is a good thing, which is why the Lions are in a good place going forward. They are also in a good place going forward because of head coach Jim Schwartz, who had this to say about Sinbad's visit:
Sinbad came out to practice today. Now we might be able to forgive him for Necessary Roughness. http://twitpic.com/60gwn6
