In the fourth and final preseason game of 2011, Detroit Lions starters will play. Jim Schwartz said they won't play much, but they will see the field for a series or two as one final tune-up for the regular season.
The list of starters who will play on Thursday includes running back Jahvid Best. After missing the New England Patriots game for precautionary reasons, Best is expected to return in Buffalo on Thursday. Some were thinking he would sit out, but then again, I guess he has to return and take a hit at some point.
The list of players set to miss Thursday's game includes running back Maurice Morris (hand), wide receiver Nate Burleson (elbow), offensive tackle Jason Fox (foot), defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch (shoulder), defensive tackle Nick Fairley (foot) and cornerback Alphonso Smith (foot).
Offensive tackle Johnny Culbreath will be a game-time decision since he was dealing with an "illness issue" at practice on Monday.
