The BIG Stafford question

Cute girl friend, Millions of dollars , Tons of talent and only 23 years old. Yeah I'm jealous but all that aside we are all aware of Matts latest issue in his step to the NFL. I have no doubt this guy is a NFL caliber QB and am willing to give him every chance possible to let him prove that. The Preseason is just around the the corner. We know that means FOOTBALL is back. Also means players will be hurt, cut and traded. The way I see it the Lions have 2 options let Hill and Drew carry the team through %90 of the preseason. Lets Stafford sit on the sidelines not so much to protect him if he's gonna get hurt it could happen at anytime. Like Peyton Manning or Tom Brady why risk it in a game that don't count?

Second option is to let Matthew play play play. He's missed time alot of time and he has alot of new weapons. Coming into his 3rd year is when he is suppose to start flourishing and showing serious growth as an NFL QB. Do we let him play a full couple games? Or half of several games?  I dunno, seems like he wouldn't be gaining much of anything if he did. He knows the offense no question and like Rodgers maybe sitting on the sideline was a blessing in disguise.

Every team will have this discussion about there QB. With no OTAs  and losing most of the off season do you let your starters pay longer to make up for some of it? Or do you keep them out to help avoid injurys? I think with the Lions this debate is intresting to say the least especially at the QB postion. Are you willing to let Stafford play increased amount of time to help get his rythm back, work on timing with the recivers, and test out the new cannon in game time situations? OR are you so skiddish to think Stafford gets hurt that we treat him like Manning? Play one half and ride the bench until regular season? Intrested to hear your guys take on this. It was mentioned on TV early today about Sam Bradford learning a new offense but not wanting him to get hurt either. Made me wonder what the consensus was about Matthews playing time in the preseason.
