Stafford has 3rd highest Total QBR
The new QB rating ESPN is pimping.
Linky
He had a 87.4 out of 100. He was behind Aaron Rogers and Ryan Fitzpatrick (both at 91) and the next closest QB was Flacco at 79.6. Looks interesting. If he gets his 3rd down plays under control I think he will be in the 90s most of the season.
PS- Cassell was 3rd from the bottom with 11.2 ow. I hope he does as well next week.

Tony Romo was 10.2 in the fourth quarter.
Well I think they said 10.2. I may be off on the .2 part.
LITTLE MAN IN BACKFIELD! LITTLE MAN IN BACKFIELD! GO STEFAN LOGAN!
From what I heard about the fourth quarter, you may be off on the 10 part.
Sounded like Tony had one of his patented meltdowns.
"Filling a need doesn’t necessarily mean you’re getting a good player," said Schwartz. "It doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re getting a player that best fits; it doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re getting a player that’s better than what you have already."
They showed it towards the end of the game...
So you may be right, it may have gone down even more.
LITTLE MAN IN BACKFIELD! LITTLE MAN IN BACKFIELD! GO STEFAN LOGAN!
Dez Bryant was taking plays off and crying about an injury...
But what baffled me was the fact that Romo kept going back to him and trying to force passes in there. He should have just kept throwing to Witten, Ogletree, and Jones.
If one of these guys can't take us to the promised land, maybe we should shop for one. You can have the greatest running back of all time, but if you don't have a consistent quarterback, you don't win.
-Wayne Fontes
Noticed that.
If he was really injured, he was hurting his team by going back out there. After all the talk in the first quarter about him being “a beast,” his was pretty much useless when they really needed him. Did you catch his “that’s my quarterback” press conference? He’s mini T.O.
LITTLE MAN IN BACKFIELD! LITTLE MAN IN BACKFIELD! GO STEFAN LOGAN!
And people got all mad when asked about his momma during the draft interview process
Looks like he may be prone to drama queenesque outbursts.
To be fair
What they asked about his mom was a little disrespectful. And I think any of us that care about our mother’s would be a little upset.

I agree. Bryant's response was appropriate.
Like the idiot Niners sending Staff to a ‘shrink" who then asks him about his parents divorce. Stupid.
Staff’s response to that lunacy was very appropriate too.

I'm not saying anyone wouldn't be upset,
but that is the point. They are purposefully bringing up something that will make you mad to see how easily you lose your cool. I can be mad about something but still not really show it, it is about having a poker face to a certain extent. Am I saying the policy is ethical? Hell no, but I understand what they were trying to test.
To be honest I don’t really remember how Bryant responded to it, I just remember the media making a big deal out of it.
Like I tell everyone: Romo + night game = turnover machine more often than not

I do like QBR
not just right now because of the results – but I like that they take into account all of your turnovers and how you contribute to both the success and failure of your team. What was Cutler at??? He supposedly had an epic game (the D dropped a couple INTs and didn’t recover his fumble – only came away with one INT!)
The Dis-Assembly Line - The unofficial, official name for the next best D-line in football.
or I could look myself!
haha. 13th, yup – epic day for Cutler…
The Dis-Assembly Line - The unofficial, official name for the next best D-line in football.
And that was on the road in a hostle environment
against a pretty good D. . .What can he do at home when he isn’t all Jacked-up with adrenaline.
How many lumps you want Doc?
no kidding
he certainly wasn’t preseason good yesterday, but still showed he had all the ability to be preseason good…If KC can’t get after him quick, he’ll have a great game. I think our playmakers underneath will be much better on turf (i.e. Best, Burleson). I think we’ll see some screens and and things like that…
The Dis-Assembly Line - The unofficial, official name for the next best D-line in football.
I don't think any team we play can get after Staff quick.
If we stay with that Indy version of a No-huddle offense, teams can’t get their guys out there. I felt so bad for the Buc’s D because they were out there dying in that heat all day and could not get any kind of rotation going to keep their guys fresh. I can’t wait till Allen trys to cover Best out of the backfield like he did yesterday.
How many lumps you want Doc?
Ware can get there
Cowboys gave us some fits last year… but for the most part I agree with you.
The Dis-Assembly Line - The unofficial, official name for the next best D-line in football.
Julius Peppers can definitely get there... :-(
Jonas Jerebko once killed a charging female rhinoceros in heat protecting its young with nothing more than a hook shot.
Um . . .NO
We did not run a No-huddle last year, and I do not remember the Lions even trying to push the ball down field, last year Lineham called 1 of the most vanilla games I have ever seen, did Staff even throw a ball more than 5 yards in that first half? This year he is hitting those 15-25 yard darts left and right. And I think Backus will be more than ready go get after Peppers after what he did to him last year.
How many lumps you want Doc?
I'm not sure if you're saying NO to the concept or to the memory
but the concept is certainly true. To believe that one of the best defensive ends doesn’t have the strength and speed to get to Stafford is unrealistic.
But I agree with your additional comparison between this year and last. I also think that Stafford’s ability to audible and hot route is much improved. The quick pass to burleson in the red zone, the quick hits to Best out of the backfield and what not make a huge difference.

Sanchez was 26th! That rating is soooo acurate! Sanchez made stupid play after stupid play despite his 300+ yards…love it!

1 pick, 1 fumble
and 20 passes of 6 yards or less lol.

Yea I saw that and loved it.
I watched every snap of that game and Sanchez was nowhere near as good as his decent stat line suggested.
Snachez is just so inconsistent
he will have one drive( ie like the one just before the end of the first half), where he looks really good. But than he will look like shit for the next 5 drives.

"I think he will be in the 90s most of the season."
Don’t bet on it. Tom Brady’s NUTS AS HELL season was barely above 75. 75+ is considered MVP numbers — Tom Brady was the only QB over 75 last year and also happened to be MVP, funny that.
90’s good for a game, but I wouldn’t count on Stafford to be averaging even close to that for the season. If he does, man oh man, watch out. Your numbers are gonna look good in a W, but how good can they stay? I’m sure excited to find out.
yeah, I'd think low 80s
which will be a SWEET season if he keeps that up!
The Dis-Assembly Line - The unofficial, official name for the next best D-line in football.
One of the ESPN sites said that Rodgers was around 86 in the playoffs last year
If that gives anyone an idea of how off the hook in the 80’s is for more than one game.
Like I said
Your numbers are gonna look good in a W. Plus they probably give huge clutch boosts for playoff games.
Well Mav, since the Lions appear to be winning twelve games his rating should be good.

Outside of the division
We have 2 teams that actually can play Defense on our schedule. SD (at home for us) and N.O. (because they blitz all day). Name any team that we play outside of our division that can play D like these 2 teams. Dallas? They were without 1 CB already and lost 1 in that game, and it’s hard to blitz a team that runs a No-huddle anyways. Add to it we didn’t use the Shot-gun like we were in Pre-season and we are going to be a damn touch match-up for everyone we play.
How many lumps you want Doc?
No offense...
But if N.O. defense shows up like it did against Green Bay, I’m not that scared. Honestly, in that game neither defense seemed like they showed up.
LITTLE MAN IN BACKFIELD! LITTLE MAN IN BACKFIELD! GO STEFAN LOGAN!
yeah
Bears D is WAY better and GB is better than NO
The Dis-Assembly Line - The unofficial, official name for the next best D-line in football.
N.O and Dallas are the same team on D
They can only get pressure by Blitzing, and a QB like Rodgers is going to eat that shit up all day like he did. The Elite QB’s can do that, and say what you want but having faith in your weapons around you goes a long way in quick releases. With the talent around Staff, he is going to kill the blitz time after time. Only teams with dominant front 4’s are going to give him any kind of trouble this year.
How many lumps you want Doc?
well Dallas had us rattled last year
so whatever…
The Dis-Assembly Line - The unofficial, official name for the next best D-line in football.

If you watched the Oakland game last night
then you are as worried as I am about playing them. their front four was tremendous.
The Raiders game will be tough for us.
On the road, and that team is improving every week. It will be a real test for our D Line and LBs to stop the run.
I still like our chances. Frankly, I think the Chargers game will not be as tough as the Raiders.

They has a good front last year
top 3 or 4 in sacks I believe. We might have to rely on our quick game, screens, and counters to get them off balance…
McFadden is a sweet back as well and they block well for him. Fortunately Campell is average and we usually do a good job on the back end against decent QBs…but they should be able to move the ball.
I think it will be a good game – better than most will think.
The Dis-Assembly Line - The unofficial, official name for the next best D-line in football.
Raiders
5 sacks, 3 FF (2 rcovered) and 1 INT…yeah – they’re nothing to sneeze at…

I hadn't thought about this
but I personally hope the clutch isn’t boosted due to conditions surrounding the game (e.g. playoffs or not, divisional game vs. non-divisional) because I would like to be able to directly compare what the QB contributed to winning that particular game. From what I read the impression I got was that the clutch factor wasn’t weighted that way, but nothing specific about that was mentioned so I really don’t know.
Also, it's official.
Pitching a perfect game is now more difficult in the NFL than it is in the MLB.
Best. Sport. Ever.
I'd think so...
Throwing a slider has gotta be a lot harder with a football than a baseball…

I know Tebow would probably be an ace in the NL
No one cares if you take ten minutes to throw a ball when the game lasts ten hours and there’s no 300 lb linemen in your face.

Against that D his little scampers would end with him broken in two.
Kinda
hope they wait to put Tebow in against the Lions. How would that be for fitting- send the gladiator in to face the wild animals.

I kept looking at their stats
And I couldn’t find him. I was skipping after the top two and jumping to the middle. Missed him 3 times.
Oh Yeah!!!
At least.
Orton and Campbell are both capable QBs who could go nuts too. I mean sure, they’re not world-beaters, but Fitzpatrick ranked #1. Any given Sunday Monday.

I'm not that impressed by either one right now. McFadden on the other hand, well he's playing well.
I’m just glad that I gained 10 points on my opponent with Marshall in game 1 and he has Michael Bush left…with the way McFadden is running Bush hopefully won’t get too many more carries tonight.

if he didn’t fall down every time he ran into one of his own players. He’s done it at least twice that I’ve seen.

I would say that Stafford made him eat his words in the first week here. Actually I would say that the NFC north made him eat his words. NFC north was dominant against the NFC south over the weekend.
Don't hold your breath waiting for a correction.
Guys like Heath never admit they are wrong and know shit about anything. Heath would probably point to Cam’s performance [which was pretty impressive I think] and say that he was right.
