Hello Pride of Detroit! Early in the week, and I imagine many Lions fans are still basking in the warm glow of being 1-0 after an impressive win over the Bucs, and congratulations to the Detroit Lions for starting the 3022 season off with a win. Over at Arrowhead pride, howver, the mood is much more somber. After what most Chiefs fans thought was a very good draft and some key free agent acquisitions, the Chiefs have ...
* Lost all 4 preseaon games and managed to ignite controversy about how much playing time starters need
*Lost starting TE Tony Moeaki for the season
*Lost their season opener, at home, 41-7 to the Bills, beginning with a fumble of the opening kickoff of the year
*Lost starting S Eric Berry for the season
... and it doesn't get any easier in the days and weeks ahead, as the Chiefs travel to San Diego for a matchup with the Chargers on Sept 25th, but before that the Chiefs help the Lions jumpstart their home opener in Detroit this coming Sunday, a game that is suddenly not only of major importance to the Chiefs, but one that could dictate the direction of both teams for the remainder of the season.
A Lions win gets Detroit off to a great 2-0 start and a leg up in the always tough NFC North, and of course winning breeds confidence which in turn breeds more winning. A Chiefs win evens things out for both teams, and would be a major boost for a Kansas City team that, if only for a week, is back on its heels and reeling. A loss to the Lions could be a near knockout blow to a team that already has injuries.
At any rate, Chiefs fans are here in the Lions Den to answer your questions the best we can about our team and the upcoming game, and to learn from you as well. Looking forward to a great game, win or lose, and a great week of renewing friendships with some great people here at Pride of Detroit.
So, do the Chiefs look like Lion food yet?
