Does our stellar DL play make our LBs jobs more difficult in stopping the run???

I am an avid reader and seldom contributor to POD and I thought I would throw this question out for the great minds here to come to a consensus.  I know on the surface it sounds like a stupid question, but stay with me....

Our DL philosophy is pass rush first and then adjust to the run as we try to plant the QB.  Does this allow the RB to commit to a hole more quickly and, more importantly, does it allow the OL to block our LBs easier: by chucking the pass rushing DL and focusing on a LB...I am concerned that RBs will get to the second level easier because of this.

Thanks!
